See the Scenic Sights!

Been trying a few different landscape and environment studies!
- The first two: I'm making a few studies based on photos that my dad took during my parents' honeymoon in the Eastern Mediterranean back in the late '70s. My intention is to directly reference at least a few of these photos in panels (I'll ask if he minds if I post the respective photo when they do make it onto a page). (in the first image, I wanted to study the sort of "organic" form of the steps. In the second, I was trying to refamiliarize myself with using contours on landscape forms.)
- The second pair: Studying a few of the fascinating coastal features of Greece and making some use of the grey toned paper I bought a while back (and have neglected) and experimenting with a white Posca pigment pen.
- The last two: the story features two towns on either side of an island, so I thought I might differentiate the two by making one vertically-oriented and the other horizontally-oriented, so I did these quick drawings to see if that sort of thing would "read." (I think it does!)
TO-DO:
- Gotta get back to the story. I think there are a few questions that need answering. Then it'll be time to try the "scene/sequel" (or "heads/tails," or "proactive/reactive") approach.
- Character designs! I already have some, but I made them a year and a half ago. Time to revisit.
- Currently considering making and *finishing* a "prologue" chapter, to test out techniques and make something we can all look at (and… enjoy?).
