The drill sergeant in this meme looked too much like Lt. Clarke. So it had to be done.

Just fyi, I don't have a Nevmian sergeant character in my bits due to the way knight squadrons are structured. Our main characters make up an elite branch of their squadron known as the "squadron head" which is directly overseen by the whole squadron's first lieutenant (1LT Clarke). The captain works closely with the squadron head which is also why we see a lot of Captain Gilcrest himself. Sergeants are selected to lead each of the lesser two - three squadron branches. The head and branches are each composed of 5 -7 mechs. So total, a Nevmian knight squadron could consist of 15 - 28 mechs.

Long story short, since the squad head is overseen directly by the lieutenant, this is why the 6 hooligans (which surprisingly yes, are all elites) are often seen with Jacob or the captain himself.

I'll have a leadership chart that maps this out better, but just thought I would throw this out there since I've had some "where's your SSG etc?" questions. Totally valid question btw! My military lore just does not take place in modern times.
