Gidach System (concept art)
Added 2022-03-20 02:04:32 +0000 UTCHere I've painted the moon system in which my graphic novel takes place: The Gidach System. Gidach (pronounced: GEE-dock) is a gas-giant planet with three moons. Two of the three moons are inhabitable with atmospheres similar to earth.
Nevma (far left) is a completely lush and tropical moon with temperatures always staying between 48 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Nevma roughly translates to "spirit". It was named due to its invigorating biome and was reported as a "heavenly planet" from the first explorers. Some fanatics worship Nevma and believe the moon is an actual "heaven".
Oasi (middle) is a diverse moon with biomes varying upon geographical location. Temperatures have been recorded as low as -110 degrees Fahrenheit near the poles and as high as 142 degrees Fahrenheit at the equator. Originally named Kokonihi (red land), some explorers began to call the moon Oasi due to finding fair amounts of pleasant oases among the otherwise harsh environments. The name "Oasi" stuck after the moon was designated as an exile destination for war criminals.
Petrodis (far right) is a rocky moon very similar to our Mars. Petrodis translates to "stony". In contrast to the other two moons, Petrodis is uninhabitable.
The gas giant, Gidach, is often depicted with two rings. The inner ring is made up of ice chunks, broken asteroids, and moon dust. The outer ring is merely an asteroid belt that orbits at a much farther distance.
I hope you enjoy this conept art! I know this is very realistic looking, but I LOVE painting space pictures, so I had to do it with this one.
