Fun fact: The comic that had the Black Donald McDuck lore was actually in an unpublished chapter of Don Rosa’s Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck in 1992; however, the scraped chapter (the History of Clan McDuck) with that lore wasn’t released until 2011 and it wasn’t until 2015 that it was seen in the original English. Also apparently he also invented Scottish log throwing and hammer throwing too during his tantrum (which were also banned)

Ah, no, I was wrong; Black Donald is from the comics, the name is meant to refer to his famously foul temper, and it's also a bit of a reference to a traditional Scottish nickname for the Devil.

As someone with some Scottish heritage, it's really cool seeing how much Scottish stuff there is in this series. I love seeing kelpies in things, and having them be a play on MLP was a fun choice. Especially getting 2 of the VAs from FIM lmao
Edit: Also I never watched the Charlie the Unicorn videos, but I am aware of them, and now I feel old being reminded of them haha

I think "Black Donald" is probably a play on a real life Scottish naming convention. In a country where most people would have red or blonde hair, brunettes would stand out, and often get the nickname to go with it.

Elijah ,the two ponies were actually supposed to be a nod to Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie (purple and pink respectively) from MLP. They were also voiced by the same voice actors for those characters, Tara Strong for Twilight and the purple pony, Andrea Libman for Pinkie Pie and the pink pony.

Ah. I was wondering whether Mosco would give Elijah some Scottish myth lore before she saw this episode. Nice to see Elijah being helped out by her Wee Lass for Ducktales. 💜🌈

Tara is also Miss Minutes in Loki, making a very nice transition from what seems like a friendly Clippy type to something much creepier.

The voices of the kelpies, Tara Strong and Andrea Libman are voices from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
It’s really fun listening to them play such adorably bloodthirsty monsters for a change😄

If I wasn't so certain you almost immediately watched Mosco's reaction of this same episode after recording this reaction, I'd urge you to. A very enthusiastic lass for all the Scottish stuff in this one.
Another moment where I felt seen by Huey. Clutching to facts, logic, or routine to ride out the current wave of chaos.

That was my favorite part of that whole video. Just the immediate realization lol.

Though a bit weird that Tara is doing a whole different voice that's closer to Bubbles, while Andrea is just Fluttershy.

Mosco's reaction to this one was predictably amazing, instantly clocking the kelpies and freaking out about it.

Of course they got Tara Strong and Andrea Libman to voice the Kelpies.
