Proof of Life #177: Probable 1-2 days delay before release, sorry!
Added 2023-05-15 22:12:11 +0000 UTCHeya ladies and gents, how's it going? Are you having a fun morning/afternoon/evening? As you might have expected, I'm currently on the last leg of development before finally being able to release the new update!
Thing is, I might have to ever so slightly delay the release of the 1st version of update 6, just a tiny bit! The issue with the side-quests update is that I have to release two decently-sized quests, one for Haylen and one for Lily, as opposed to main quests update where I can pretty much end it where I am when release date is approaching, and continue it in another update.. Right now, Haylen's quest is finished and tested, and I'm wrapping up Lily's quest. I could have ended it yesterday, and I would be on time for release date, but I felt something was lacking, so I'm currently adding a few more stuff and a small scene which will serve as somewhat of a build-up for her next quest.
Once I'm done, I still have to add a few freeroams and progress some mini-stories + do a bunch of tests, write the walkthrough, etc... But I promise I'll be releasing the new update no later than Saturday the 20th. I've freed my schedule to make sure I can dedicate myself to working on the game until then. I might even be able to release it earlier, but I make no promises. Also, I haven't commissioned the animation for the last scene yet, so it'll take a few days too.
I'll leave it there for this PoL, and I'll go back to development straight away. Lily can't rest yet, she's got more work to do!^^

Yeah, there's too many of them, and the way the reminiscence room is implemented makes it a bit more complicated to implement them. It's fine if it's a couple scenes, but considering there's like 30 to 40 of them currently, I don't think it's worth the hassle. I suggest adding a save before the ones you enjoy, that's why there's 100 save slots^^

2023-05-19 06:03:16 +0000 UTCI was thinking, wouldn't it be a good option to add freeroam events to the reminiscence room? Personally I don't know about the rest, but one of the things I like the most is to exploit the map and find freeroam events. There are several very good and interesting ones (that's why I have a save in that point to see them sometimes). For example, so far one of my favorite events is what happens during the first military camp and it's a pity that it's lost and the only way to see it is having a save at that point. I don't know how hard it is to implement that kind of scenes in the reminiscence room, but if it's something too complicated then don't do it :), it's not worth your effort and wasting development time to do something that most likely only I can think of.

2023-05-16 23:08:25 +0000 UTCThe 1st version is for the 9$ patrons and the 2nd version is for the 5$ patrons, they're exacly the same contentwise so you don't have to play both of them, the only difference is that the 9$ patrons get the game 5 days early, so if N_Taii can finish the Update on schedule, then the 1st version will be released on the 18th, and the 2nd version 5 days after that on the 23rd.

2023-05-16 13:40:54 +0000 UTCThere's indeed going to be 5 scenes + the extra scene, although Lily's last scene which I'm planning to add will be really short, mainly because she's not corrupted enough to justify making it any longer, so it's partly being used to set up the rest of her storyline.

2023-05-15 23:36:01 +0000 UTCAlso, based on last week's PoL, i got the impression that we're gonna be getting 4 "proper" scenes, meaning that the recollection room is gonna have 4 new scenes in it, 2 for Haylen, 1 for Naevyr and 1 for Lily (plus the extra scene for some). Will this new scene that's gonna serve as a "build-up" for Lily's next quest count as a proper scene as well ? I'm only asking because that would mean that Update 6 will have a record amount of scenes in it, 5 to be precise, which sounds...too good to be true actually. xd

I'd tell you to keep up the good work but based on the previous Updates i find it hard to believe that you're capable of doing anything below good.🤔
