Proof of Life #113: Progress Report #1

Heya gals and guys, N_Taii here, with a Proof of Life Monday post meant to give you an update of what I've been doing for the past week : ) Actually, that's what I've always been doing for the past PoLs as well, so that "#1" might be a bit meaningless.

HC3's Story: I haven't started it yet, as I'm missing base elements, like complete character's sprites, the map, etc... I'll start it only once I have a good base to work on, not before.

HC3's Map: I made good progress, as more than half of it is ready. I'm waiting on artists to do a few new assets to better fit what I have in mind, like a casern, or, as was suggested to me, an open market.

HC3's Art: I've hired another artist to work on the project, since I pretty much underestimated the amount of work and the time it would take to complete all the assets for the new game. That brings the total of artists who have their hands on HC3 to 5: 4 pixel artists and 1 illustrator. Talking about illustrator, the last portraits for the red-haired girl are done. Since some have asked me for a more "intense" ahegao closer to HC2's, the artist delivered (see the rightmost portrait of the princess). Next step, after he's done with all 4 char's extra ahegao, would be to do the banner.

HC3's Gameplay: I say gameplay, but it's mostly about the new Triple Trident card game. I've made 35 new cards, as well as a whole spreadsheet to make sure the battles stay more or less balanced throughout the game. More on that at a later date.

HC3's Miscellanous: I've also been in talks yesterday with 4 different voice actresses, one for each character. Three have already agreed, and I'm waiting on an answer for the 4th one. With 5 artists and 4 voice actresses, there's quite a lot of time spent communicating back and forth behind the scenes. Don't think my days are spent simply developing the game^^

Last but not least, I found a race name for the short red-hair girl! She'll be an Aillin. I think that's a fitting name, short and cute, for a race of short and cute people ; )

Anyway, that's it for this week. I'm thinking of keeping this format for the foresseable future. It's more organized and easy to read.
