A Quick Thanks
Added 2021-03-02 21:31:56 +0000 UTCLess than a week ago, we launched a Patreon for A More Civilized Age and hoped we might get to something around 1000 backers, but had much more modest and—we thought—realistic expectations. Tonight we broke 1200 backers and counting, and it's sinking in that people, a lot of people, really like our show. We're incredibly grateful for all your support.
We're also relieved! For two months and change, we have been recording these episodes and getting lots of much-appreciated encouragement, response, and commentary. It is hard to judge, especially within the bubbles of our respective social media feeds, whether our work is resonating with people. We knew the show was fun to record, and we hoped that fun and warmth would come through, and that it would also be insightful in places. But the scary thing about launching a show and then a Patreon is that you don't really know if you've made something so good that people will be moved to support it.
You don't know, until you know. Thanks to everyone for this vote of confidence and investment in our work, and we hope we'll continue to pay off for you until the final Jedi is brought to justice and made to answer for their crimes.

This is the first patreon I've ever supported. Imagine the disbelief, the sheer delight, at seeing the announcement that people from Waypoint -- a podcast that got me through long nights in the darkroom at college, that broadened my horizons when it came to critical analysis of popular media -- were going to be watching CLONE WARS, a show that defined my childhood and that I still campaign to get casual Star Wars viewers to watch. The stars have truly aligned. So happy to support y'all in this!
