2024-05-26 22:28:30 +0000 UTCYeah, the beginning of part 4 is more world building and it's cool and all but it can take awhile to get going. I notice some people either prefer part 4's world building and hate part 3's journey or vice versa. I kinda prefer 3's tbh just cause that end goal is always in sight but luckily, the wait is well worth it once the story gets going and it's not like part 3 where it's at the very end of the series. There are a couple of episodes though that I'm just like ughhhh... why does this feel like filler? LOL Also, one thing about stands is they're more likely to awaken within people who have a stronger will to live which is usually murderers/criminals so most stand users will be evil natured if that makes sense.

2024-05-24 02:45:35 +0000 UTCYeah, Part 4 is very much a slice of life take on the series for a big part of it. I adore the creativity of the Stands that show up due to this, but I can see how the lack of direction can be a bit offputting.

2024-05-23 23:22:54 +0000 UTCMinor spoiler ahead: With this part, it took Araki quite a while to even come up with the main villain, so for the first ~half of the part the main characters don't even meet them. There IS an overarching villain for that first half, but they're less the "big bad" and more the "medium bad" But once the "big bad" shows up - they're so great, so much character, people often praise them as not just one of the best Jojo's villains, but one of the best villains in media in general

2024-05-23 18:41:48 +0000 UTCPart 4, in my opinion, is a rough start. It's a bit slow at some times. But once it catches on, boy does it catch on. The main reason we don't get immediately introduced to the big bad guy like we did in Part 3 is because Araki leans HEAVILY into this season being a "murder mystery". It wouldn't really be a mystery if we knew who did it right off rip. Even after Angelo's been dealt with, there's still unexplained murders going on.

2024-05-23 18:35:42 +0000 UTCIn terms of the "big bad, threatening, overarching villain" It's kind of a spoiler, not a big one imo, but since you've brought it up - I'll elaborate on "where they even are" in the reply to this comment, so that you actually need to click "load replies" to see it in case you want absolutely no spoilers

2024-05-23 18:34:48 +0000 UTCToshikazu Hazamada's stand, The Surface, takes its name after an American pop/R&B band of the same name And you can actually hear Crazy Diamond being summoned as Koichi gets elbowed before the reveal Also, I don't remember anyone here mentioning it before, and I don't know how obvious it is, but most Jojos have a catchphrase: Joseph's was "your next line is..." - 'tsugi no serifu wa/tsugi ni omae wa...to iu' Jotaro's is the now iconic "good grief"/"gimme a break", depending on the translation - 'yare yare daze' Josuke's is "this is just great" - 'gureto desu yo, koitsu wa', but overall he just uses the english word "great" a lot, which in Japan is unusual I guess
