Lighting
Summer, north Italy, this shot has been done in a room with two windows placed on the same room side, the first one is on the right of the subject (left of the model), and this is the main lighting source. I regulated the exposure in such a way as to have no burns areas and in the same time to have better shadows possible without lost details, subsequently I improved everything in post-production. The other window with reflected light (on walls and ceiling) help to brighten up shadows around the subject. Any other kind of luminous source have been used.
The focus is on the eye, I used a large aperture to soften a bit around the subject and attribute a bit of pop effect (three -dimensionality) to the model.
Post-production
I developed the digital negative with Capture One, adjusting lights/shadows and improving contrast and micro-contrast then, with Photoshop, I corrected some small defects (pimples, hair, stuffing, etc.), without altering in any way the physiognomy of the subject. Some defects on the scene (for example on the wall) have not been removed to maintain a sort of truthfulness of the scene.
