Trace's stoic gaze and Flora's transparently fragile sincerity suggest that he's got her under his thumb, where she really doesn't want to be.

At first look, I thought Flora was happy and going in for a kiss, but when I looked closer at the faces and expressions, I saw the tear and quivering jaw- Flora is worried, apprehensive (“what have you become, my love?”). And Trace looks annoyed at her presence, kind of a “what are you doing, little girl?” look. I can’t really interpret my feelings on this, but I think it looks great

I mean she has tears in her eyes and her jaw is shaking, just like she is about to break out into tears. She loves him for who he actually is and is sad to see him loosing himself. And even though he is probably very dangerous in that state she is just with him, comforting him and determined to bring him back regardless of the danger she puts herself in. That is just my interpretation of what I see and if that is what Tom had in mind, then the sketch brings the point across perfectly. That really is a bittersweet moment regardless of if my interpretation is right. Awesome Well done Tom😊
