I decided i've been quiet and so I'd bring yall an update.
I'm definitely behind where I'd like to be. There's a variety of factors. So let's talk about em!
I've had a ton of anxiety lately due to... reasons. And have had people in my life affected by the source of those anxiety. So life has been real tough recently. I'm not asking for people to pity me too hard on that kind of stuff. But I have had several big days I was planning to work just... not be possible.
I am feeling way better now but it's definitely been tough. We move along and do our best though!
Other stuff is me going a bit beyond the scope and looking at some features I hadn't been aware of or known about before hand. Including updates to things that really needed em. These are still rough versions but I'm liking the direction many of them are moving in.
Lots of back end stuff to make room for the new stats. They've essentially been added to the base game code most scenes use.
The menu has been given an upgrade. It's still being worked out as I figure out how to interact with visustella, which is the plugin (or really set or plugins) used for this~. A few menus got this treatment.

A CG Gallery used to view many of the arts used in game, as well as give credit to artists for pieces I don't own the rights too. This was something I'd wanted to get too for a while. I forget if I shared my views on this originally but I did originally make this project to use as little art from others as I could. But people do REALLY like the extra context the art brings. So I've kinda always been an awkward spot mentally due to that. At the very least, I can share some credit for the artist so you can find them.

I'm pretty much at the point where I was going to finalize a template with all the quality of life and updates I've been meaning to add, and then use that as a basis to redo scenes with.
One of the features that had me doing big thinks was the topic of a previous post. The silhouette alternative view when in a predator. I'm still in the middle of evaluating things but I have many some examples just to see how they look. Some of these include how I want to treat the internal view. you can kinda tell my considerations look like "Do I want the internal to be like a ui element? That's easier to accomplish. But is it worth it to have the internal over the belly? I feel like people prefer that. But it may be hard with certain poses if I want to push into that. The arrow style may work...". I'm leaning towards potentially having a default pose for each character, and then maybe one special pose. i'm in talks with an artist and may have them do harder poses I can't make work, or special predators. Buuuut here's some example pieces.




These are a bunch of the things I've been working on. And I'm not exactly what I'd call "close" to being done with it, since that last point still needs to be solved for me to know exactly how I should dev it.
I am sorry for those who are dying for content :< This has been a bit of an adventure and like, this is the second tech rework on my end. So I would like to promise you all that I WILL NOT DO ANY BIG BACKEND CHANGES AFTER THIS ONE.
Whatever tech we end up having, we will ride with it to the end of the project. And I do appreciate you all sticking around to support me. It means so much right now.
As of now, this is almost looking like a remaster of the game. And I do like how a lot of stuff is coming along c:
