I think you should wait to be current before going back and reading and doing reviews of arcs. That way you can see the reoccurring themes throughout the story. One I've noticed is how Luffy says he hates Shirahoshi because she's a coward and a crybaby. It reminded me of how Ace yells at Luffy for crying and tells him he hates crybabies.

As for completing Fishman island before reading Arlong Park in the manga, as someone whose favorite arc is Arlong Park, I think maybe you notice one or two new things, but it really doesnt change the arc as much as others (like skypiea for example when we learn about haki), but it totally does recontextualize the situation and make the hateful lines that Arlong spouts hit different. Hell, back in Franky’s flashback, someone calling Tom a “savage fishman” when he fights back was something I noticed when rewatching to show that Fishman racism was prevalent but not overtly addressed even back then.

Also, the third group of fishman pirates were the 3 who left after Arlong. We saw them as slave traders during Sabaody arc.

The 3rd Group who Split Up was Macro with his two Buddies on the end of episode 544 they were the Fishmen who tried capture Camy back by the Flying Fish Riders, they tryed to sell a mermaid in too slavery, as fishmen and that with the knowlege of Tigers tragic death.

Koala :’( Im with you. It’s crazy that even after Koala, Hatchi and the others did what they did to Nami’s village. Like I get Arlong because he never opened himself up to Koala while she was on the ship, but WTF Hachi? Though I guess it also goes to show that one good experience on the other side doesnt always change a person’s total world view. More than likely she was the “exception” and they thought nothing of it when brutalizing Nami and her village.

These episodes really show how much respect Luffy has for Jimbe. Luffy never sets down to listen to stories of the past, he always dismisses them as irrelevant. But here he sits and listens to every word Jimbe says.

It's a pun in Japanese, and also a play on the Portuguese word sabão (soap). Because of how close this word sounds to the Japanese shabon (bubble), Oda made read Sabaody, but the sabao part is pronounced shabon. This is legal in Japanese because technically any symbol can have alternate readings, even romaji. For example, 偉大なる航路 is pronounced "Gurando Rain (Grand Line)" despite being written "idainaru kouro" in native parlance. Hope that helps.

I think to avoid spoiling yourself you should skip ahead a few more seconds after the title card since there's never anything directly after it, that's what I do and should save you some stress.

Ruff, I know you're probably stressing about what the best way to experience the story, but I think you're over thinking it! Enjoy where you are in the present. Don't stress about the future stories and if you want to reference old arcs, I think that is what you should do! The way you're experiencing One Piece is not the way most of us did the first time, but do try to remember that you should ultimately experience it the way you want to over the way us viewers want you to. We're simply here for the ride, and you're driving!

your pronouncing of Sabaody is correct problem is somewhere in translation originaly it is Shabondi but for some reason in english they write it as Sabaody ... and it is not fault of subtitles only because it is in manga too ...

I know what you are talking about, and it makes this hit so much harder. I swear one piece was amazing before rewatching, but rewatching and realising stuff like that just makes you realise how much of a masterpiece this is. I think i cried a few times watching the first time, but definately cried more in my 2nd watch of OP knowing some of the future events.

agree with you just one thing that at same time because there are lot of bad marines that doesnt make the whole bad ... there are good marines and bad marines ... like the point of OP is there are not just bad groups and good groups of people ... humans are not just bad or good etc.

You're underestimating Strawberry way too much, not good to judge a character based on his name. You don't remember it but the guy was one of the Enies Lobby Vice-Admirals so he's supposed to be one of the strongest Marines of his rank.

Gotta say I'm with Ruff on the Marine thing. The comparison between the pirates and the Marines doesn't hold water because the pirates are independent groups, so you can have good pirate groups and bad pirate groups. The Marines aren't, they're just one group following one leader (or group of leaders). And as a whole they've been shown to be pretty damned bad. You may have good individuals within that group who believe they're doing the right thing, but that doesn't make the whole good.

This is just a personal theory, but I think Fish/Merfolk reproduce by laying eggs which get fertilized in water and develop that way until they hatch as babies.

So as others have stated, the 3 groups are Jimbe and the Sun Pirates, Arlong and his Arlong Pirates, and stupid Marco and his group of kidnappers and slave traders. What's especially sad is that Fisher Tiger died without knowing how many humans were actually grateful to him. The little girl Koala, certainly, but also (the future Warlord and Empress) Boa Hancock and her sisters, and every other slave who'd escaped and had not been caught and returned yet. Also you should know that this video is mislabeled, that you actually ended it at episode 544, that 545 still has yet to be watched. Also pay close attention to the characters being introduced in this flashback segment. While some of them may seem like side characters whose main purpose is to flesh out the story of Fisher Tiger and Queen Otohime the fact is that some of those will become very important people, if not this arc than in a future one. Looking forward to your next video.
