Walt to Jesse in the last episode: "you are not a killer. I am not, and you are not" 1.5 episodes later: Walt kills 2 people & Jesse pulls the trigger on Gale After Walt's actions of saving Jesse, a drug addict, even after Gus told Walt "you can never trust a drug addict" all the way back when he first met him I think Gus doesn't trust Walt's judgement anymore and so wants him gone. He then used Walt's cancer as a justification to Gale for why Walt might suddenly die in the near future, even though Walt told him he's quite well atm. He got Gale down to 1 more cook and then we see them cooking afterwards so I think it was safe to say that Gus was going to have Mike off Walt there and then. I agree that Walt definitely does see Jesse as family. In S3E10 (the one with the fly) he tells Jesse that Jane's dad told him in the to 'never give up on family' and Walt, looking at Jesse, says "and I didn't. I took his advice" talking about "saving" Jesse by allowing Jane to die. Imagine giving life advice to a random stranger and it gets your child killed. S3 is great. I think my favourite 2 seasons are 4 & 5. Many say that each season is better than the last. :D
