September, October, and Other Updates

Putting this in a separate and public post from any image or other updates, so even people who aren't supporters can see what's going on and know what to expect for the next couple months.

First up is an update schedule.  In that I don't have one.  I post things as soon as they are finished, but I've become quite bad at posting WIPs and regular updates.  So, going forward I'm going to try and stick to the following:

1. WIPs posted every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.  I've been having Wednesdays as my regular day off, so that means two days of work then post WIPs.

2. HDs posted as soon as they are done.  No real change here.

3. Requests post goes up on the first of the month, and I will 'close' it on the fourth.  First part isn't any different, but the end date has been very nebulous so this is just trying to give you guys better guidance.  You might still sneak in after that, since it takes me a little time to go through the requests and try to flesh them out and think how I'd draw them.  I won't just ignore your requests if I see them coming in while I'm working on that, but it's better if you get them in before the cutoff.

I'll probably try to make and enforce more rules for myself about how to run this thing.  I'm thinking of making a rule about how long polls will last/run for (the majority of the votes seem to happen in the first 3-4 days, things don't change much after that), but no decision yet.  I'm open to feedback about how you think I can improve and what you would like to see done better here.

Second, September.  We'll do more sketch requests, probably in the same style as we did for August - I'll thumbnail out more of the ideas, and you guys will vote on the ones to be sketched from it.  I thought this worked out pretty well, more ideas at least got roughed out and you guys had a bit more input on what got drawn.  Otherwise work will be focused on the comic.

Third, October.  I had mentioned we would collect sketches from the last few months and do a poll.  This will happen in October, largely because I'm taking a trip and visiting my dad and uncle for the first two weeks.  So I'll start a poll when I leave, leave it open till I'm back, and then when I get home finish up whatever has won.  May try to schedule some updates to happen when I'm gone, we'll see how things go with this schedule.
