2020-02-03 12:46:00 +0000 UTCI feel the same, this is a shading method I have experimented with 2 or 3 times now and I am consistently underwhelmed for those same reasons. It can't provide deep enough shadows and the midtones are oversaturated. It also tends to distort the base colors a bit much.
