Arcane Season 2 Episode 5 Reaction Edited

The things this show does to my emotions are just insane! This really was the perfect way to bring the family back together. I teared up, but now I could not be more on edge! There's finally a shred of happiness in this show, and I just know it's going to cause me so much pain.

At this point, I keep looking forward to seeing what the next musical sequence will be at the start of the episode! 😂 It’s such a great way to tell us so much quickly. Yeah I think this is my main thought about the season as a whole, it’s truly phenomenal how much they’re able to cover in one episode but it would have been so much better to get more time with all of this to explore it even more. I gotta agree, right now he’s in competition with Jinx for my favourite character with just how outside of this conflict he’s been, and now we finally get more on him and get to know he’s not just outside the conflict, but is actually fighting against morality and the laws of nature themselves. Love how you’ve put this, Singed may be brilliant but he’s limited by his resources, with Silco gone he needed someone else to foot the bill and Ambessa comes along being the perfect source. His line ‘Why does anyone commit acts others deem unspeakable? For love.’ Might be my favourite from this entire show! Getting all this on Vander was both beautiful and tragic! He’s clearly so tortured by what’s going on in his head to he ventures to a place of safety, and we get such a good look at the past through it. A time where Vander and Silco were friends, were they simply working in the mines and lead simple lives, not involved with free Zaun or being revolutionaries. Love the detail of the glass and now it connects them both from their past to their futures, it shows that something remains to tie them together, suggesting that there was a possibility for a peaceful solution between the two since this connection was still present. But seeing Vi and Powder’s Mum was so amazing!! I love how she’s so cheery and optimistic about everything and just brings such a light to the dreary Undercity, you can see that light shine through Vi and Jinx now knowing that all these people that raised them wanted to give them a better future. Very looking forward to the Viktor and Mel stuff as they are being built quite secretly in the background which makes me very intrigued. And that’s so cool what they did with Reveck, I assume Singed existed in the game for a long time and only now through this show came that revelation. Makes me wonder what other sort of things are hidden within the lore which shows like this could touch on at some point. Aaaawwww Vander/Warwick is somehow even more tragic, those voice lines are so heartbreaking while knowing their meaning and it’s incredible to think that for so long the creators knew all this and waited till the show to fully tell the story.

Oh I love how much this episode does. A quick musical montage to catch us up with Vi (yeah they use those a lot this season to save time), insight into Singed's character as well as Silco and Vander's past, more on Mel and even a bit of Viktor in the end. So much in a single episode and it works wonders although I would have preferred each part having more time. Oh well, they have to work with the seasons the got. Singed, Dr. Reveck... What a great character, my second favourite in the show after Viktor. What can I say, I enjoy characters who bend the limits of science. As for his capture, I'm almost certain he got caught on purpose. He doesn't seem to care for Zaun's independence and only worked with Silco in exchange for resources to keep working his true project. Yet he went to the meeting at Vander's statue and didn't escape when he had the chance to. Having Vander wreck the prison was the perfect way for him to get Ambessa's attention and strike a deal for more resources since Silco isn't around to provide them anymore. Loved the line "Why does anyone commit acts others deem unspeakable? For love." Vander, in his broken state of mind, sees flashes of the life he once knew and runs to the mines he and Silco once worked in. The room they find his letter in seems to have become a base of operations for them but it was likely some sort of a break room once upon a time. We see a pile of the gauntlets in the corner. They were likely their mining tools, as Jayce and Viktor intended Vi's gauntlets to be for mining. Vander just logically used them as weapons since they were very limited in their weaponry. I also like the detail of the glass next to the letter being from the last drop and the same kind Silco used in his office. It was nice seeing young Vander and Silco get along and I love Vi and Powder's mom's optimism there. She doesn't have to worry about the conditions where her children are raised because the "bozos" are going to figure things out and make Zaun happen. Viktor and Mel stuff will have to wait until I have time to watch the next episode, which I'm looking forward to. In the meanwhile, here are a couple things about connections to the game: Both Singed and Reveck exist in the game's lore but until this they were considered to be separate characters. Corin Reveck existed only in text and there wasn't really anything connecting him to Singed. This revelation was kinda huge. Warwick, the creature Vander became, is a champion in the game but Vander is practically an original character as next to nothing about Warwick's past was known. People started theorizing after seeing the beast hanging from Singed's ceiling in the season one final. Notably, he was known as the "hound of the underground" (Warwick in the game is notably more wolf-like) and Warwick in the game has a couple voice lines that make sense now after the reveal. ""I ran these streets—now it's your turn to run." and "The memories come back every time you scream." The last thing he heard as human was his daughters screaming.

I could not love this dysfunctional family more than I do right now!! It’s been a long time coming to see them all together again, but it makes me so happy to see how Jinx and Vi have moved past their issues and came together to help their father. Isha is just such an adorable little add-on 😂 She fits right in with them and now I’m so excited to see what’s in store for them next!

Great reaction! Such a peak show, they may be a disfuctional family but it works so good! Isha and Jinx relationship is so adorable, can't get enough of them.
