🔮8 - 25 - 20 Self Care Oracle Pull🔮

Good morning everyone! Today I pulled the “positive affirmations” card, and honestly this couldn’t be more spot on. I’m definitely someone wirh a lot of negative self talk, and from talking to friends and peers they have been experiencing a lot of the same feelings during quarantine. While I can’t fully blame it on being stuck inside, more so the shadow work I put off for too long that causes issues later on lol. I can say that I’ve been particularly rough on myself lately, and for what??

Genuinely why, I try to ask myself that now when I realize I’m doing it. Sometimes it feels like “dark humor” but even then, why are we dragging ourself down to make a joke? I try to wake up with one goal in mind for the day, and today is going to be speaking kinder to myself!🤍 If you guys are falling down similar negative self talk patterns try and catch yourself, analyze what you’re actually saying and get to the root of that emotion. It’ll probably suck at first because of how naturally this becomes over time, and it’ll take some work addressing, but I promise you’ll feel so much better after a day of positive affirmations!🤍

This was such a perfect card to pull yesterday. I didn’t get the chance to comment but I’m currently working on grad school applications and have been really doubting myself and had a lot of negative self talk because of it. This was the reminder I needed to make it the focus of my shadow work this week.

I’m also someone who has a lot of negative self talk so I definitely resonate. I’ve been practicing this method I learned from one of Gabby Bernstein’s books where you witness the negative or judgmental thought, acknowledge it, and then actively choose again, meaning you swap it for a positive thought. It’s helped me become more aware of my thoughts instead of defaulting to negativity so now it’s not as automatic.
