Like, does he know cause he's already tried and been rejected ( T_T) or a bit of a Schrodinger cat situation in which if he doesn't ask, he'll never have to know for sure that his parents would allow him to starve, so better to not ask than have that definitive horrible answer...in other news, this comic gives me all the thoughts and feels XD

The difference between then and now is soul-shattering. Also, the fact that his "celebration" consists of getting to eat an apple just plain hurts. This poor, poor boy. :(
