Weekly Update - 230 - 8/5/24

Some or most of you have probably seen this image already. I posted it in various places this weekend, but it's more interesting than anything else I have to share rn so here it is in super high-res. Just for you guys. I'm starting to lean more into a higher-res high res. 5500x4250 (or the reverse for portrait) instead of the usual 3850x2975. Most people probably won't notice any difference, but I'm doing it largely for my own sake. Often now when I'm working on finer details and background things, I'm starting to notice the pixels more and more, and I'd rather not!

Regular res will continue to be 900x1165, and that's because most sites where I post still don't really accept anything much bigger.

Anyway, I'm quite proud of how this image turned out. That game... I swear... really stuck with me. Having drawn this image though, my obsession with the Coffin of Andy and Leyley is finally losing its iron grip on my brain. If you're into psychological horror games, I highly recommend it.

And what's that second image? Who's shoulder is that? What's going on there? I don't know but it looks kinda fanservicy!

Also, I see a couple of you have filled out (what Patreon calls) welcome surveys! I want you to know that I've seen them and I appreciate them! Not quite sure how to respond to them, tbh, but I do want you to know they aren't just going into a black abyss. Same goes for all feedback, actually. Even if I don't reply to every comment (despite my best efforts) I do still read them all!

So... yesterday I messed up and released v0.3 of the character sheet to every tier, instead of just to Traders. Kind of a silly mistake I know, but I think I'm okay with leaving it like that. For the time being, I'll still be releasing most of the rules and their discussions to Trader tier and above, but it feels awful to me to accidentally release something to everyone and then take it away. So IDK.

Most TTRPGs seem to release their character sheets to the public anyway, and maybe some of you are curious to check out what we've been doing behind the curtain without wanting to commit any money to the higher tier, and that's okay! Please just remember we're still in the very, very early prototype phases of that project, and everything you see there is still at risk of being shuffled around, reworked, and/or thrown out entirely. If you have any feedback on what you see, though, I'd be happy to hear it!

Comic this week? No. Unfortunately I hurt my hand by drawing too much, (or probably from not taking enough breaks, tbh) last week, so I'm resting it this week. It already feels better than it did on Friday, so I'm pretty sure I'm not developing any long-term injuries, I just want to be extra careful with it to give it plenty of time to recover. It's my drawing hand after all. It's gotta last me another fifty years, at least!

The script for this chapter still needs some work anyway, so that's what I'll be focusing on this week! Plus the other scribbles I'm doing.

Playing: Stardew Valley? This weekend I discovered I apparently haven't opened that game since 2017, and it's had tons of updates, so I figured it's worth trying again. Also I've got mod-crazy with it, so... there's that too!

Okay! Take care of yourself Trick, health is what's important. I hope this injury doesn't have any long-term consequences. One of the reasons I leveled up to merchant is because of TTRPG God Slayers. I'm interested in how it's being created. I'm a newbie to RPGs but I'm very interested in participating. Please let me know.
