I love them and main point of joining your patreon was your words about playing videogames here you enjoy most over games you think would do great on YouTube. Just really like your game choices, your personality and I wanted to see you enjoy games I like (our taste in them quite overlapping) and support you. Especially after schedule changes and your words about burning out trying to produce everyday youtube content on top of your streams and patreon. So just continue to enjoy playing games you like and that would be enough) If time difference would allow it, I definitely will join your stream live. If not, I know what will occupy me at work)

2024-12-04 08:37:56 +0000 UTCI agree that I have been putting on a slightly different persona for YouTube lately, it's semi-intentional and definitely a result of my distaste for social media. I approach some YouTube videos with a more 'showman' vibe, because I'd rather the comedy, story arc of a run, or cool puzzles be the focal point of the video. I've noticed that if strangers start believing that a YouTuber is like a 'friend', then they start treating them like a friend in all ways, including the negative ways where they'll roast or insult in ways I don't like, or give input when I'm absolutely not asking for any. Mix that in with the social media aspect, where literally anyone can just show up, and I'd get dozens of these unwanted comments per day. It got exhausting, so I'm now trying to treat YouTube videos more as straightforward entertainment. Patreon is much smaller, and everyone who's here wants to be here, so I'm cool with being more personable and authentic.

2024-12-04 08:34:27 +0000 UTCI’ve been a daily viewer of the channel since a bit after the Bloons era and I really fell in love with your content and the amount of joy you get when playing really good puzzle games. It’s been so interesting to watch the channel grow and the way you approach it, but I’m also extremely glad that the Patreon is going to get more love as a smaller community. I don’t mean to be rude, but I feel like some more recent videos have a different sort of Tyler in front of the camera, like a content creator persona instead of the puzzle game lover that brought me to this channel. I think the Patreon (for the most part) has done a great deal to remedy this, but I was just wondering if you’ve felt this transition? Do you feel like the social media aspect of YouTube affects your own experience playing games?

Plus, the sites are engineered to take advantage of negative aspects of human biology to keep you hooked for longer. It's much more rewarding to have a conversation in real life.
