Alice and Bob were best friends since childhood. They grew up together, went to the same school, and shared everything. They were inseparable.
One day, Alice received a letter from a prestigious university, offering her a full scholarship. She was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to tell Bob. She ran to his house and knocked on the door.
Bob opened the door and smiled when he saw Alice. He hugged her and invited her in. Alice showed him the letter and said, “Bob, I got accepted! I’m going to the university of my dreams!”
Bob congratulated her and said, “That’s amazing, Alice! I’m so happy for you!”
Alice thanked him and said, “You know what? You should apply too! We can go together!”
Bob hesitated and said, “I don’t know, Alice. I’m not sure if I can afford it. And I don’t think I have the grades to get in.”
Alice said, “Don’t worry about that. You’re smart and talented. And I’ll help you with the application. Come on, Bob. It’ll be fun!”
Bob nodded and said, “Okay, Alice. I’ll give it a try.”
Alice smiled and said, “Great! Let’s start right now!”
They went to Bob’s room and worked on his application. Alice helped him write his essay, fill out his forms, and gather his transcripts. She also gave him some tips on how to ace the interview.
A few weeks later, Bob received a letter from the same university. He opened it and read it. His eyes widened in disbelief.
He got accepted.
He couldn’t believe it. He was going to the university of his dreams with his best friend.
He ran to Alice’s house and knocked on the door.
Alice opened the door and smiled when she saw Bob. She hugged him and said, “Bob, you did it! You got accepted!”
Bob nodded and said, “Yes, Alice. I did it. Thanks to you.”
Alice said, “No, thanks to you. You worked hard and deserved it.”
Bob said, “Alice, you’re the best friend anyone could ask for. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Alice said, “Me too, Bob. Me too.”
They hugged again and said, “We’re going to the university together!”
They were happy.
But not for long.
The next day, Alice received another letter from the university. She opened it and read it.
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
She got rejected.
She couldn’t believe it. She was going to the university of her dreams with her best friend.
But not anymore.
She read the letter again and again, hoping it was a mistake.
But it wasn’t.
She looked at the bottom of the letter and saw a signature.
It was Bob’s.
He had written a letter to the admissions committee, telling them that Alice had cheated on her application, plagiarized her essay, and lied about her grades.
He had betrayed her.
He had taken her spot.
He had ruined her life.
She felt a surge of anger and pain.
She grabbed the letter and ran to Bob’s house.
She knocked on the door.
Bob opened the door and smiled when he saw Alice.
He said, “Hey, Alice. What’s up?”
Alice slapped him across the face and threw the letter at him.
She said, “You bastard! How could you do this to me?”
Bob looked at the letter and his smile faded.
He said, “Alice, I can explain…”
Alice said, “Explain what? How you stabbed me in the back? How you stole my dream? How you broke my heart?”
Bob said, “Alice, please listen…”
Alice said, “No! You listen! You’re not my friend anymore. You’re my enemy. And I’ll never forgive you for what you did.”
She turned around and ran away.
She never spoke to him again.
