Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [542]
Added 2025-08-05 10:32:52 +0000 UTCFeeling Mewtwo’s gaze upon it, Chien-Pao’s relaxed posture instantly vanished. It rose cautiously, eyes locked warily onto Mewtwo.
Chien-Pao could sense that this unfamiliar Pokémon was entirely different from Mew—it was powerful!
After being thoroughly educated by Reshiram earlier, Chien-Pao now exercised extreme caution. Its body tensed into a defensive stance, icy energy pooling around its form, ready to counterattack the moment Mewtwo struck!
Yet, Mewtwo’s next move surprised everyone.
With an apologetic expression, Mewtwo bowed slightly and said, “I apologize on my mother’s behalf for causing you trouble.”
Seeing Mewtwo proactively apologizing, Chien-Pao was stunned. Expecting a fierce battle, it hastily shook its head, indicating no apology was necessary.
Meanwhile, Mew tugged impatiently at Mewtwo’s arm.
She’d wanted Mewtwo to avenge her pride—why was Mewtwo apologizing instead?!
It’s said children know their parents best. Although Mewtwo had no idea what had just transpired, based on his observations, Chien-Pao didn’t look like the type to initiate trouble.
So, there could be only one truth!
Mewtwo cast a helpless glance toward his mother.
Facing Mewtwo’s questioning eyes, Mew nervously turned her head away, pretending innocence.
Blue and Sabrina exchanged astonished looks.
“How did Mewtwo grow up to be so reasonable with parents like that?” Sabrina muttered softly.
August: “...?”
Why has this suddenly become my fault? What did I do?
Everyone knows me as a champion of justice, a nemesis of evil! With me as a role model, how could Mewtwo grow up badly? Impossible!
Seeing his indignant expression, Cynthia covered her mouth and laughed softly. Sabrina and Blue couldn’t suppress their amused smiles either.
Azumarill scratched her head in confusion. Having only just joined August’s team, she had no idea what the humans found funny.
...
There were four Treasures of Ruin in total. Having captured Chien-Pao, the group now followed their new leopard-guide toward the Shrine of Groundblight north of Casseroya Lake.
Standing at the shore, the vast expanse of Casseroya Lake stretched endlessly before them.
“By the way,” Sabrina asked curiously, “why is this called Casseroya Lake? It sounds... too ordinary, doesn’t it?”
Compared to Sinnoh’s Lake Acuity, Lake Valor, and Lake Verity, "Casseroya Lake" indeed seemed plain.
Moreover, Sabrina had stared at the map for quite some time but still couldn’t see any resemblance to a casserole dish.
“Mew!” Mew suddenly flew from August’s head, zooming excitedly toward the lake’s center.
After reminding Mew not to cause trouble, August ignored her antics.
Iono raised her hand eagerly: “Oh, I know this one! It’s because of Casseroya Falls that it’s called Casseroya Lake!”
“Then why is it called Casseroya Falls?” Blue asked pointedly.
Iono froze, caught completely off-guard. After an awkward pause, she ventured hesitantly, “Because... because of Casseroya Lake?”
Even the local streamer was stumped.
August sighed, stepping in to rescue Iono from embarrassment. “Casseroya Lake has another name: Lake of Kings. Iono, are you really from Paldea?”
Realization dawned on Iono’s face, and she sheepishly stuck out her tongue in embarrassment—a moment oddly reminiscent of Zinnia.
Sabrina blinked, intrigued. “Lake of Kings? Does that mean there’s some powerful Pokémon living here?”
No sooner had she spoken than a massive wave erupted from the lake. Before their eyes, a gigantic Dondozo breached spectacularly, soaring high into the air before splashing back down, spraying water everywhere.
Dive execution: zero points.
“It’s a Dondozo!” Iono exclaimed.
From a distance, its enormous form truly appeared king-like.
“Apart from Wailord and Kyogre, this is the first time I've seen a fish that huge,” Cynthia remarked appreciatively.
August stroked his chin thoughtfully, gazing at the spot where Dondozo had disappeared. “Fishing here would definitely be thrilling!”
However, they weren’t here for sightseeing.
There were still three more disaster Pokémon awaiting capture.
He telepathically called Mew back. Strangely, on the other end of their psychic link, Mew seemed unusually delighted.
Raising his eyes, August spotted Mew rapidly approaching from afar. As she drew nearer, he noticed Mew proudly clutching something in her tiny paws.
“Mew~!” She waved eagerly at August, excitedly showing off her newest treasure.
But when August scanned the object with Aura, his expression immediately turned complicated.
“Mew,” he warned cautiously, “you’d better toss away whatever it is you’re holding!”
“Mew?” Mew tilted her head, baffled.
Toss it away? Why would I do that?!
It took so much effort to pick out the prettiest Tatsugiri from among the group she'd found!
Before Mew could react, the water beneath her suddenly erupted violently. The enormous Dondozo breached again, opening its cavernous mouth.
CHOMP!
In one swift motion, Dondozo swallowed Mew whole before crashing heavily back into the lake.
“Mew just got eaten!” Iono screamed.
Cynthia and the others instantly looked to August, anxiously awaiting instructions.
August groaned, covering his face in exasperation.
He honestly couldn’t tell if Mew was lucky or unlucky. Of all the Tatsugiri she could’ve picked from, she'd chosen the False Dragon Titan itself.
Releasing Mewtwo once again, he sighed, “Mewtwo, go rescue your mother.”
Initially confused, Mewtwo sighed inwardly after August filled him in telepathically.
My mother really is too troublesome.
Yet even as he thought this, Mewtwo’s eyes glowed blue.
[Psychic]!
Scanning swiftly through the lake with [Psychic], Mewtwo quickly locked onto Dondozo’s location.
With a simple raise of his arm, three padded fingers clenched and lifted upward. Accompanied by a dramatic splash, a terrified Dondozo burst from the water, suspended helplessly mid-air by Mewtwo’s power.
Before Mewtwo could forcibly pry open Dondozo’s mouth, however, the huge fish voluntarily spat out a glowing orb containing Mew—and her prized Tatsugiri.
Not a hint of fear appeared on Mew’s face. On the contrary, she gleefully waved around the False Dragon Titan in triumph.
“Mew~!”
She now knew exactly what she had caught!
Waving energetically at Mewtwo, Mew signaled him to release his hold on Dondozo.
Although confused, Mewtwo obediently complied—it was his mother’s request, after all.
Then, with a proud flourish, Mew brandished the Tatsugiri in her paws.
Under Mew’s enthusiastic “remote control” using the captured Tatsugiri, the giant Dondozo reluctantly began performing a series of flashy tricks in the lake, putting on a spectacular aquatic show for everyone watching.
