Blues Rock Guitar Lesson | Turnaround Riff in E Major

Hello friends, and welcome to another lead guitar tutorial. Today I'm coming to you from Warsaw, Poland, and I'll be showing you how to perform a useful blues-rock turnaround in the key of E major. This technique is built from the E Blues scale, and is the perfect way to wrap up a 12 bar blues. We’ll begin by reviewing our E blues progression, then jump into learning this riffy turnaround. Let’s get started!

P.S I'm back to the states tomorrow, so expect a bunch of new lessons to roll out in the coming days. Apologies to my premium patrons for my not including credits in my recent vids, I haven't had access to those graphics during my trip. Thanks for your support and patience!

Glad to be of help, and that you're building your repertoire of skills. Keep up the practice!

One last thing: the minor blues scale in E is the major blues scale in G. What ever is minor in E, is major in G. We call these two keys "relatives."

The minor blues scale is just like the minor pentatonic scale, but it has a flat 5 note. In the key of E, that would be notes E, G, A, Bb, B, D, E.

Solid turnaround to add to my resume of blues turnarounds. Thanks Rob.

Love this, Rob. Question on the blues scale: What goes into the A minor blues scale or is it somehow just the same pattern as the major blues scale. Also any suggestions on a good looper brand for intermediate players? Thanks as always. Safe home!
