May 2023 Update

Hello everyone. I am writing an update as to keep everyone informed with how my life has been going and address some issues I have been facing. I technically did a post like this at the end of March when my computer almost broke, and I want to make these a regular monthly update to rightfully keep everyone updated.

This may be long winded and rambling, so I apologize in advance.

April was a very difficult month for myself. A few days ago, the pipes in our house blew in two separate locations, requiring substantial work to fix on our own. The strange state of digital sale taxes in the United States made tax season incredibly stressful this year. Early in the month, my grandmother who has been suffering from severe COPD for years was rushed to the ICU and passed away on the 17th. My entire family fell sick with Covid-19 after contracting it from the hospital visits, and my own mother nearly passed away from injuries she sustained from her sickness.

For those of you who are in the Discord server, you have more than likely seen me mentioning these individual cases when they happened. I wasn't in a healthy mental state to consider posting updates on social media until days later, at which that point it felt arbitrary to bring it back up.

These tragedies and setbacks in my personal life have stifled workflow, something which I am very disappointed with. Many of the things I wished to tackle (both personal and obligatory) had very little time to properly get developed.

The main intent in writing this is to explain how I have been and the state of work. I will be trying to take more time for myself to get my mental health into a better state. You can expect the final part of Let's Grow to go up later tonight, and updates to Miu to be released later this week.

The May Poll will go up later tonight once the assets for the banner are rendered. The theme this time will be Skullgirls.

Thank you again everyone for the support. The compassion people have been showing me both in public and private chats has seriously helped me keep moving forward. The support means the world to me, and I wish to repay it to everyone in time.

I hope you all have a wonderful May. The weather is getting nicer, so be sure to enjoy it.

You've proven not only to be very mentally strong, but also one of the most hardworking artists that i know of. Despite these difficulties, you're still putting out a very nice amount of art for us to enjoy. Art is hard to make, and life is even harder. In difficult times like these is good to find relief in art, friends, or even just a walk outside. Your mental health matters the most to us. I don't mind supporting your endeavors even if we don't get much art in here, and i do believe that many others would agree with me on that. It's money that will go to a nice place. This phase will soon be nothing but a memory. You will be more than capable of being productive and get further in art, but there are other priorities that take most of your energy already. You've had enough problems to now be harsh on yourself. I completely agree with Firesoul. And i do hope things turn out better soon for you. We'll be here, with or without art. Best wishes Takano ♡

I'll post this here since it's probably good to get some of this sentiment out of the discord: I think it's completely understandable that these nasty happenings stifle your workflow. I'd be more concerned if you were able to just push through and keep doing your work like nothing happened. All that really matters is that you make it through the other side. Us and our projects are always secondary to you. Just try to keep that in mind dude. Our support might mean a lot, but the thing that actually matters most is your health, be that physical or mental. =)
