Sarah's Scoliosis Story Part I - Risser's Plaster Body Cast (FULL VIDEO)
Added 2018-09-28 18:03:32 +0000 UTC New Patient has an appointment at the clinic because of her advancing scoliosis. She is scared and it only gets worse while she waits to see the Doctor, as another patient comes in, wearing her Milwaukee Brace for her monthly checkup.
She can not help but notice her brace and stares at her when girl is not looking, wondering what it will be like to have to wear one herself!
But soon girl catches her staring, smiles and tries to assure new patient that everything will be alright.
The nurse comes for her and after a brief examination she finds herself all strapped in the casting frame with plaster rolles being applied on her body.
She needs to wear her new body cast untill her milwaukee brace will be completed. Studies have shown that a body cast does not only help with curvature of the spine, before bracing treatment begins but also helps patients to mentally prepare for wearing their milwaukee braces full time.

2024-05-06 20:12:20 +0000 UTCWe have one video in cast like this in line for release, but the everyday living like you have noticed is rather limited, as a person can barely move. In this position also we have no means of transporting the patient outside of clinic premises, so we can only make videos around hospital facilities.

Like in Betty or Cheryl in minerva with short double hip spica? And to the story about "everyday" living in a cast like this? I understand that it is almost impossible to do anything, but it would be interesting to see her spend a day or two casted like this.
