[Konoha2] Chapter 105: Hiruzen Sarutobi VS Ōnoki!
Added 2025-08-19 18:10:05 +0000 UTCHiruzen Sarutobi’s firm stance didn’t surprise Ōnoki.
If a few words were enough to reclaim the Four-Tails and eliminate a formidable enemy along the way, that would be far too easy.
Ōnoki snorted lightly, “In that case, let’s see what the Hokage is made of!”
Danzo instantly drew his blade with one hand and formed a seal with the other.
Mitokado Homura also formed seals with both hands.
On the opposite side, Ōnoki’s two guards began forming seals at the same time.
In the next moment, a stone wall erupted from the ground, while on Konoha’s side, wind and fire combined and exploded into a roaring sea of flames, crashing violently against the stone wall.
Then, the earth beneath Hiruzen Sarutobi’s trio cracked open.
Danzo charged forward with a drawn blade, swiftly dodging the sharp spikes rising from the ground.
Mitokado Homura followed closely, hands forming seals in preparation for a jutsu.
As for Hiruzen Sarutobi, he lifted his Hokage robe to reveal his armored vest, his sashes fluttering in the wind.
With a leap, he dodged the earth-based attack and landed on a rising piece of ground, only to be met by a barrage of sharp stone rods whistling toward him.
It was Ōnoki’s attack.
Hiruzen agilely dodged, throwing a shuriken mid-air and immediately forming hand seals.
Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu!
In an instant, the single shuriken multiplied into a dense flurry of projectiles.
...
In the rear, Hajime Hoshita hadn't expected the two leaders to start fighting so suddenly—he thought this was supposed to be just a negotiation.
He quickly leapt into the air to get a better view of the battlefield.
He saw Ōnoki already airborne, while Hiruzen Sarutobi had summoned Enma. As soon as Enma appeared, he transformed into the adamantine staff.
After spinning the staff once, Hiruzen thrust it toward the airborne Ōnoki. The Tsuchikage tried to activate Dust Release but had to abandon the attempt and dodge. He then attempted to touch the staff with his palm to use Super-Weighted Boulder Jutsu.
But the adamantine staff suddenly contracted, evading his touch.
Hiruzen immediately used the staff as a pole to launch himself high into the air. Mid-air, he split into three bodies and formed hand seals.
In the next instant, Wind Style, Fire Style, and Lightning Style techniques erupted from his mouths, aimed straight at Ōnoki.
Ōnoki countered with a blazing pillar of Dust Release, which collided with the three chakra natures in a thunderous explosion, forcing both sides back.
Hiruzen descended and caught the staff again.
Ōnoki also landed, slamming his hands onto the ground, causing a massive tremor as a giant stone golem rose from the earth and slammed a hand down toward Hiruzen.
Hiruzen extended the adamantine staff, piercing through the golem’s hand and into its chest with a thunderous crash.
He then sprinted up the staff, forming hand seals mid-run, and unleashed a blast of lightning from his mouth, striking Ōnoki on the golem’s head.
The stone wall shielding Ōnoki was instantly pierced by the lightning and hit him precisely.
But that Ōnoki turned to stone and crumbled—just a clone!
The golem’s other hand reached for Hiruzen.
He circled the staff like a bridge, evading the attack, then leapt and released a slicing wind blade, cutting off the golem’s hand.
At that moment, the real Ōnoki emerged from the golem’s head and seized the opportunity. He clasped his hands, unleashing a white light pillar that formed a rectangular Dust Release barrier around the airborne Hiruzen.
In the next instant, Hiruzen was disintegrated.
But Hajime quickly spotted the real Hiruzen sprinting out from beneath the adamantine staff. As it shrank back into his hand, he leapt once more, extending the staff into a giant spear.
Boom!
The stone golem’s head exploded and the entire body collapsed.
Ōnoki soared back into the sky.
Hiruzen landed and thrust the adamantine staff into the ground beside him. Forming hand seals, four clones appeared beside him, and they all began forming seals together.
Water Style + Lightning Style – Lightning Water Dragon Bomb!
Earth Style – Earth Dragon Bomb!
Fire Style – Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!
Wind Style – Great Breakthrough!
The real Hiruzen and his clones combined five chakra natures into two main attacks.
Water and lightning merged into a roaring lightning water dragon, baring its fangs toward Ōnoki in the sky.
Fire and earth formed a solid fireball, and with the help of wind, its temperature and speed increased drastically.
Faced with a pincer attack, Ōnoki was forced to redirect his Dust Release to intercept Hiruzen’s incoming techniques.
This was his second time using Dust Release, but still failed to resolve the fight.
From the air, Hajime observed the intense clash with a clear view and couldn’t help but admire,
"No wonder he’s called the Professor. Such mastery of even conventional ninjutsu... I can’t compare."
Hiruzen’s use of ninjutsu—timing, coordination, power—was all exceptional.
Even without using a single S-rank technique, the effects were extraordinary.
Apart from the Multiple Shuriken Shadow Clone being A-rank, most of the rest were B-rank at best—standard for jōnin-level combat.
"This is what a real shinobi looks like!"
Hajime had to admit—among current shinobi, Hiruzen Sarutobi was the peak of conventional ninja technique.
Back on the battlefield, after exchanging many blows without result, both Hiruzen and Ōnoki ceased their attacks.
Hajime turned to the other side of the battlefield—
Danzo and Homura Mitokado versus Ōnoki’s two bodyguards.
Those two Iwa-nin weren’t simple—elite jōnin level. Younger than Danzo and Homura, slightly less experienced, but still able to hold their own.
This wasn’t Hajime’s first time seeing Danzo in action—but it was the first time against opponents of his level.
His swordsmanship was exquisite, and his Wind Style jutsu extremely well-practiced—nothing like the Danzo who later fought Uchiha Sasuke.
As Hiruzen and Ōnoki withdrew, Danzo and the others also separated and pulled back.
“Hiruzen, let Homura hold off those two. I’ll summon Baku—we might be able to deal with Ōnoki,” Danzo said while looking up at the airborne Tsuchikage.
He intended to use Baku’s suction ability to pin down Ōnoki, giving Hiruzen an opening.
But Hiruzen shook his head, “Ōnoki has incredibly sharp battle instincts. He could easily counter Baku’s ability.”
In mid-air, Ōnoki was far too mobile.
Don’t be fooled by him using only Earth Style and Dust Release—to perform Dust Release, a Kekkei Tōta, he must also be highly skilled in two other nature transformations.
Hiruzen looked up at him and shouted,
“Tsuchikage, Konoha has already made our conditions clear.”
“As a sign of goodwill, I’ll issue a Hokage order forbidding the Wood Release user from targeting Iwa’s Five-Tails.”
Ōnoki’s face darkened, but inwardly, he breathed a sigh of relief.
It’s not just the theft—it’s the constant worry.
Having already lost the Four-Tails and its jinchūriki, losing the Five-Tails too would massively weaken Iwa’s deterrence.
Descending to the ground, Ōnoki had no choice but to compromise,
“In that case, let’s sign the peace treaty.”
Hiruzen nodded, then turned to Mitokado Homura,
“Homura, you take charge.”
Homura nodded immediately.
