I love hearing her voice. We never talked on the phone once before the pandemic. Since last March we’ve talked almost every day. The way she says “Hey darlin’...” when I pick up makes me grin like a goof. “I love you my babe,” our mantra when we say goodbye. I always remind her to “be safe!” if she’s at work, she always replies “Yes ma’am.” Two more sleeps until I get to fall asleep in her arms, and make good on all of these promises.
