He did apologize for it but yeah, that was probably why. He even did the voice for the Dishonored 2 trailer until not being called for the main game.

2024-03-03 19:42:07 +0000 UTCThere was an “incident” with original Outsider VA Billy Lush some time after the release of the first game that I’m pretty sure contributed to his recasting;… for whatever reason, this ‘professional’ actor thought it would be a good idea to do a Reddit AMA using an account with a username that was called ‘[highly offensive slur] destroyer.’ Of course I’m speculating but that incident combined with the fact that lead developer Harvey Smith being outspoken about his beliefs in inclusion and the like make me pretty confident he didn’t want to stand for that.

2024-03-03 11:05:30 +0000 UTCwhoo, exciting! regarding the outsider voice change, it was a controversy when the game got released as well. tl;dr we never got full confirmation why, arcane just didn't hire the same VA. the original VA had a questionable username with a slur in it, and some people didn't like how he sounded so 'dry and uninterested' in the first game
