Here's a real blast from the past eh? Those of you who've been following me since...really early on in the creation of Rehab probably remember when I used to draw up 'Character Cards' to go with my fics. You may also remember I drew a few character card pics for others stories and characters. One of those featured ol' Vlad up there and another bat named Lucy Sang. These were characters that belonged to the author Upplet from the...I think it was called "When instinct Falls" series. This was sort of a commission/freebie art piece I did back before I had commissions running, and kinda got...I wanna say gingerly pressed into. Upplet later called the card 'fanart', but i had never actually read their story and sorry to say I still haven't.

Anywho, recently Upplet sold of some of their characters, and the person who purchased Vlad here came to me looking to get a basic character sheet done. Gotta say, It was fun to take another crack at a character I drew in 2016 and see the difference...(Even if marginal). it's also fun and challenging to draw Zootopian bats, or really bats in general. Figuring out how their wings would work with hands, how they'd put on clothes, that sort of thing. In this sheet minor modifications were made from Vlad's original design to give him some free finger digits instead of his previous and (more accurate to nature) webbed fingers. But hey, we can just call it evolution can't we?
