I’m genuinely surprised you didn’t enjoy this performance as much as I thought you would. I think you weren’t wowed because you were too focused on trying to figure out if she was singing live which I do think there may have been some altering during the pre recorded entrance but other than that she didn’t give me a reason to think that she was lip syncing once she was out on the field.

This was pretty much the first Beyonce live performance I've seen, and I watched it only a few weeks after hearing the album for the first time. So it makes sense that I didn't have the feeling like I saw all of this already

2025-02-07 00:30:01 +0000 UTCNot sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the inspiration behind most of the overall design and production were the Juneteenth parade and celebrations that have taken place in Houston at Emancipation Park since the park was first established in the 1870’s. The all white outfits, the horse drawn carriages decorated with flowers, the marching bands….a phenomenal ode to a historic Houston tradition.
