Wanna share what “So I” is about! You obviously have a right to not vibe with it but knowing what it’s about is what makes me love it so yeah 😅. It’s about Charli’s relationship with the late artist SOPHIE and how she reacted to hearing about her death. SOPHIE was an underground electronic artist who really shaped Charli’s current sound and was a mentor to Charli. If you want look up SOPHIE’s song “It’s Okay To Cry” which is referenced in “So I”. Not trying to tell you you’re wrong in not vibing with it but yeah understanding the lore of the song makes the production choices make sense to me at least. This album is definitely AOTY contender worthy. Especially when you understand the concept on how she is a partygirl (brat) but she explains how that lifestyle makes her cold, detached, and insecure. She lists her insecurities, what she could be missing out in life, and how she messed up in some relationships. Then by the end of the album she gets pulled back into that partygirl loop, which is what the concept of 360 and 365 is.

My favorite tracks are VON DUTCH and I THINK ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME, but I also loved VON DUTCH with ADDISON RAE and GIRL SO CONFUSING with LORDE. When it comes to next week's video I'm hoping for one of the listed below: MARINA - Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land (Album released in 2021 which is quite similar to her early albums but with beautiful, self-written lyrics) MEGAN THEE STALLION - MEGAN (She released it last week and it's super fun even tho I don't listen to rap music usually) AURORA - What Happened To The Heart? (Album which was released actually the same day as Chali's. It's gorgeous sounding, artistic work.)

Also this album is about a night clubbing, how you start from 360 super confident feeling yourself ready to club then clubs classic because you wanna hear club music to hype up but then sympathy is a knife shows how you become insecure during the night cause you start overthinking and it keeps going, with songs about sadness and vulnerability which we all are when we are drunk but then you get hyped with songs like von dutch and b2b, to finally end the night with i think about it all the time regretting all you did that night however you end up with 365 doing cocaina and going back to clubbing which is 360 and that’s why both have same beat, they represent how you go from night to morning from clubbing. it’s such an amazing album 😭 also girl so confusing is about lorde and there’s a remix mawma! I think the “blueballing” effect is intentional, as the song speaks of a gaping hole left not only in her life but in the musical community SOPHIE was apart of. they’ll never be able to experience a euphoric beat drop or production session with her again regardless of the paths they may take 💔
