I feel like I just listened to an album from 2008. The main issue for me was the lack of movement. The songs lacked musical ideas… Like for candy paint… i kept expecting the beat to change or for it to do something but it was just all repetitive . I wish she would have released after motivation and just had that as the lead single. I didn’t even know she was coming out with an album or that it was released. I did like a few songs here and there. Tbh my favorite song on the album is probably tantrums and it’s more for James and what he brought. Now that I have watched your reaction in full... I could not agree more. A lot of the sounds lacked spice on production, most of the lyrics are not memorable, and her vocals are lack luster to say the least. I think she's capable of making something better than this album, but I'm not gonna hold my breath for a follow up if this is what she served us after six years solo and two years of no singles. Melodrama will definitely wipe this disappointment away. I revisited it a few months ago and it still holds up as being original, fun, and emotionally stirring. I don't know if brat by Charli XCX will connect with you, but it is the first time I've ever connected with Charli's typical sound in full. (Her Crash album is an underrated gem) I hope you react to Aurora's new album, and I AM BEGGING for you to check out Girl with No Face from Allie X and All Born Screaming by St. Vincent.
