Mid-week update: Delays

Hi everyone,

I would be lying if I said that progress on Chapter 2 is going to plan right now – it is not.

As much as I enjoy working on it, XXXivilization is still a hobby for me and not a job. The last few weeks have been really busy and demanding at my day-time job, and while that is nice for me personally – as I’ve gotten to learn a lot of new things and work on an interesting project – it means that when I’ve gotten home from work some days that I’ve been too exhausted to get a lot done for XXXivilization.

I would have needed to burn myself out to get the beta-test phase started in early November as I planned originally, and I don't think that's in anyone's interest.

That means I will just give you a short update on how far things have progressed:

Renders – Done, still need to be integrated into the game
New maps – Done
New events – Waiting on the texts of one writer, 1-2 minor events still missing, rest has the text written but still need to be integrated into the game
New core mechanics – Done, but need further testing
Other extensions (tech tree, units, etc.) – Mostly done, balancing still needed
