Who I Am and How XXXivilization Started

Hello Everyone!

In an effort to be a bit more personable – which I’m rather bad at – I thought I’d make a short bio post to give everyone a little insight into who I am and why I started XXXivilization.  

I come from a small European country and have pretty much been a big nerd for as long as I can remember. I’ve been involved and enjoyed pretty much every stereotypical nerdy hobby at some point in time – D&D, Magic the Gathering, Warhammer tabletop, etc. I do have other hobbies, of course. I like listening to music (primarily Rock, Punk and Metal) and going to concerts/music festivals and I also enjoy mountain hiking (see the image above) and am an avid gym-goer, but honestly my nerdy hobbies and interests are where I feel most comfortable.  

I took up an interest in coding when I was 14 and have spent the vast majority of my time programming ever since, which I doubt will surprise anyone who’s played XXXivilization for more than five minutes. I’m not much of an artist or writer – although I try to get better and do the best I can – but I hope the game engine and new mechanics I’m able to rapidly add to the game make up for it not being the flashiest or best written NSFW game.  

When I first sat down to create XXXivilization, I wanted to make something that was close to the types of games I grew up playing and enjoy most: RPGs and strategy games. In addition to more mainstream SFW titles, I always enjoyed playing adult games in those genres, like Free Cities and Slave Maker. Unfortunately though, as NSFW games became more monetizable, it seemed to me that less and less non-VN games were being made – let alone completed, which has always been a problem.  

Ultimately, I thought to myself, “I’m not finding the types of games I’m looking for, but I’m a software developer and know what it takes to make these types of games, so I might as well make it myself! Oh, and make it a lewd game because boobs are awesome.” The rest, as they say, is history – or rather, will be when the game is actually done I guess.  

All I hope for is that people enjoy playing XXXivilization and share my dream of more NSFW games that have deeper gameplay and replayability. I also hope that, should I ever start moving in the wrong direction, you will let me know and help me course correct.
