Lan Zhan trying to pour that cup of water all over himself while drunk is probably a reference to a scene in the book, where, after they get back to their room that night, drunk Lan Zhan decides he wants to take a bath (and he wants Wei Ying to help wash him). And, um... let's just say that things quickly escalate from there lol 👀🫢 But, of course, as all romantic aspects of the story, unfortunately, their hook up also didn't survive censorship........ 🥲

Drunk Lan Zhan is just so funny and cute, also for your information, in Chinese culture the groom gifts the bride 2 chicken as part of a wedding gift so Lan Zhan was pretty much proposing to Wei Ying here. I love watching the juniors’ interactions with Wei Ying, they follow him around like baby ducklings following their mother haha.
