Kat knew she shouldn’t have done it.

She stood there with the consequences lurching inside her, her stomach sometimes shivering as it emitted strange growls and grumbles.

People couldn’t help staring at her, even when they were trying their hardest not to. She couldn’t blame them. She was enormous.

It was the following day, and Kat was in attendance of Roger’s retirement party, which had been set up in an expansive room at the corporate building. Most of the management staff and department heads were there, which amounted to hundreds of people.

Kat was sweating. Her insides would not stop twisting and rumbling, her face twitching as she tried to tolerate the growing discomfort. Sometimes her cargo would push and prod out at her skin. It was getting increasingly difficult to maintain a composed demeanor. Eventually she found herself clutching the side of her belly, grimacing from the forceful throbbing inside. She could physically see her body pulsing; pushing out and in. She wasn’t sure what was happening. But she tried her best to grin and bear it.

Kat was wearing a business dress that had been custom-tailored for her drastic proportions. It was a sheath dress that followed her frame, but it was like the midsection exploded forward, her massive abdomen practically obscene in the way it bulged out from her body, as though it had no regard for the schematics of the human form.

Kat wasn’t sure how much longer this could go on. But she didn’t think about it either. She had compartmentalized her condition, and her sole focus was her career. Work was stable and consistent. She had been absorbed in her job for years. At that point, Kat suspected it was the only thing keeping her sane.

“I’d like to think I’m leaving the company in good hands,” Roger said hoarsely. Around the room, sycophantic executives were clinging to his every word. One might have thought that God himself was imparting wisdom. “But don’t get too cozy in my absence. I’ll still be on the Board of Directors.”

There were some perfunctory chuckles. One man burst into excessive, hysterical laughter, as though it was the funniest thing he’d ever heard.

As Kat offered a fake laugh of her own, her beach ball of a belly wobbled. She grunted, clutching it and panting. The people nearest to her threw concerned glances.

There had just been so much activity ever since she had arrived to work that morning. Her belly jumped, causing her whine out then cover her mouth. She took a step back, leaning her plump backside against the counter behind her.

She could see Logan in her peripheral vision, calmly sipping his drink as he watched her.

“I would like everyone to say a few words about Roger,” Ike called out. “To commemorate his departure.”

Given the number of people at the party, that was sure to take a while. Kat breathed evenly.

“I’ll go first,” Ike went on. He turned to face the elderly company head. “Sir, it has truly been an honor to work for you. You’re the best boss I’ve ever had.” Ike somehow managed to sprout tears. “I am forever in your debt, sir. You are my inspiration.”

Kat tuned the rest out. It was decidedly hard to focus. Her right hand continued to rub circles on the side of her belly. She bit her bottom lip as she started to sweat. But everything was fine. She was getting worked up for no reason. She drew in another long breath of air.

Ike had finished up, and now Jim from HR was blathering about Roger’s greatness.

“Cake?”

Kat looked up to find Cindy, one of the secretaries, offering over a huge slice of cake on a paper plate.

A lot of people were trying to be attentive towards Kat, despite the weirdness. But it was getting to be overkill. Kat had already eaten four slices of the decadent vanilla cake.

“Sure,” Kat responded, accepting it. She didn’t know why she did it. It had been impulse. She was practically trained to accept food; to never turn it away. It was as though Oharo was controlling her even when he wasn’t around. Him, and this pregnancy.

Kat took a bite, forcing it down even through her discomfort. She tensed slightly as she suffered a particularly forceful throb, her thighs quavering where they were pressed together. She blinked back the tears in her eyes.

“Everything all right?” said Logan casually as he leaned against the counter beside her.

Kat had already managed to demolish the huge cake slice. She gripped the counter behind her as her belly pulsed. She arched by instinct, trembling. She felt as though she was trying to tame an unruly creature.

Her tits bobbed, her nipples almost painfully distended. “F-Fine,” she managed, not meeting his eyes. Not after that morning. She hated herself for giving in to him so easily. Even if it had been amazing.

“Kat?”

She blinked rapidly, only then registering it was her turn to speak. She accepted the cheap microphone that was being passed around. She hesitated, then looked around at all her expectantly waiting colleagues, some of whom were staring at her in morbid fascination.

“Roger is…a legend.” Even as Kat was saying it, she found it utterly ridiculous. But she continued with her rambling. She wasn’t prepared, so all she could do was bullshit. It wasn’t as though anyone was actually listening.

Looking, but not listening.

“When I first met him, I knew this man would change the whole industry,” Kat went on. “And my faith in him has been rewarded. Now that I have been recently appointed the Senior Vice President of Product Distribution, I’d just like to thank Roger for…” It was a struggle to keep going, but she forced herself onwards, like she always did. She always pushed through it. But this was different. This was so, so hard. Kat was close to tears, but she wasn’t sure why. It was — it was that daunting pressure.

Something burst inside her. She felt it happen before she saw it. A wave of force reverberating outwards. She felt as though she was getting fuller.

Kat stopped midsentence, her eyes wide, and her lips parted as she stared forward. The whole room was silent. Waiting. When it went on for too long, Ike cleared his throat.

“Kat…everything okay?”

They were looking at her as though she were a bomb about to go off. And maybe that was precisely what she was.

“I think…” She was panting and shaking. She had to get out of there. Yet she had to stay put. She didn’t know what to do, but something was happening. The wave of pressure finally rippled to the surface.

Her stomach pushed forward. She gave a choked, wheezy noise, her head tilting back, her elbows bracing against the counter behind her because her knees were nearly buckling.

“Stevens!” said Ike. Everyone else was frozen in shock. Roger teetered, gripping his cane.

Kat was struggling.

Her belly surged again – tight, red, and impossibly tense. It was visibly advancing with growth; taking over. She looked as though she was inflating, as she was stuffed with more pressure, life, and bulk.

Sweat was pouring down her body. She was struggling not to be dragged down by her increasing weight.

A woman nearby fainted.

“What in the hell!” shouted a middle-aged man from Accounting.

Cindy found the courage to go to Kat’s side, holding her hand, trying to help.

“Errrgghhhhhh!” Kat roared as her belly expanded yet more, rolling forward and outward, as though it was trying to take over the space. It prodded into Cindy, causing her to lose her balance.

Kat was barely hanging on. She was breathing forcefully and audibly, her chest heaving frantically. “C-Can’t!” she choked out, feeling like she might tear in two. Her belly button throbbed, the size of a tangerine.

Her breasts were growing as well. Swelling and heaving, until they were spilling over the V neckline of her dress. “Guuhhhh…” Her nipples started to leak profusely, spilling forward, milk practically splashing down from her front.

“Nghhhhh…” It didn’t seem possible, but her belly was bigger than she was. Probably twice or triple her size. It was still pulsating forcefully, becoming impossibly heavy. She was starting to look as though she was housing a young elephant, and she was only getting bigger.

It was too much. She sank down the counter, plopping onto her plushy ass, to find herself pinned there by the crushing weight of her belly. It jerked and she yelped, sinking back, the mountainous orb hoovering over her. She could hardly see anything beyond it.

It gave another jerk, and she screamed. She found herself screaming her head off, her limbs writhing. One more jerk, and her dress tore to shreds, as kicks and nudges visibly littered the surface of her skin. Her face was beet red, and she knew she was finally suffering contractions. Real ones. She couldn’t fathom the prospect of giving birth. She was just — so — massive!

“L…Logan!” she wailed accusatorily. Her belly tensed and tightened, seeming to squeeze in on itself. Bobbing and shoving, shoving deeper into her pelvis. She felt like she was going to break! More of her milk gushed free of her, enough that it was making a puddle on the floor around her.

Another puddle of fluid indicated her water breaking, Kat spreading her thighs as far as she could manage, something shoving between them, forcibly crowning. She threw her head back and howled in pain as her belly started up with its next wave of shuddering contractions. It looked like a balloon about to pop, the size of a boulder, completely dwarfing her!

She gave a choked wheezy noise as the head finally burst free. People were scrambling around her, a few on the phone with emergency services.

And Logan had done nothing but stand there watching her. His drink warm and forgotten, his fist wrapped tightly around it.

-

“Maybe I shouldn’t have given her that extra slice,” murmured Cindy from behind the massive bouquet of flowers she was clutching in front of her.

Kat was in a complete daze. She didn’t know how she had done it. But somehow she had.

Ten babies.

Big ones. Healthy, plump ones. Ten, overweight, babies.

And now she lay there motionless, staring blankly at the ceiling.

She couldn’t lift a finger. Hell, she couldn’t move a toe.

“Is she okay?” Cindy whispered loudly.

“She just needs rest,” said Ike as he peered around at the many sleeping babies in cribs that lined the walls of Kat’s private hospital room. “Do you think this is some sort of record?”

Kat was unemployed.

Ike had apprised her of this only moments earlier. Her position had been given to Logan.

At least they had sent flowers.

In her semi-conscious stupor, Kat wondered if Roger had planned this all along. His final act as CEO had been firing her.

Logan had won.

-

Three months later, Logan sat in his expansive corner office, contentedly sipping his coffee.

Everything had worked out wonderfully.

He had to take a moment to reflect on his achievements.

He had forged a successful partnership with Mr. Oharo and the Oho’s franchise. He had gotten the first café up and running, with plans for two more to soon be opened locally. Overall, he was a hard worker, a trusted colleague, and an amazing human being. Not to mention the fact that he was a damn stud. Logan chuckled to himself.

A knock on his office door interrupted his thoughts. He looked up in intrigue. He did not have any meetings scheduled that day. Perhaps it was just a colleague stopping by to congratulate him on his many recent accomplishments. “Come in!” he called with imperious glee.
