Finch Update

I’m not sure if he’s drinking on his own.
I called our primary vet this morning and asked if I could bring him in for fluids because he was visibly dehydrated. We just left after getting 2/3 of what he needed because he began trashing around too much to keep the needle in. I didn’t want to sedate him again.
My arms are covered in bruises from where he’s bitten me from trying to crate him and medicate him. He’s stressed. I’m stressed. I’m really starting to worry.
He’s still alert and strong enough to put up a fight. He’s not critical yet, but I don’t know how much longer his body can go without nourishment. He’s skin and bones. Animals often stop eating so that their bodies can heal. I just wish I knew what he was trying heal from so we could help him.
I’m on hold with UF as I’m typing this to talk about the possibility of hospitalizing him tomorrow so that he can at least get supportive care and if he crashes he’ll be in the best place possible for it.
