The jury did not hold Trump liable for the rape item due to lack of enough evidence to support the charge. In New York, I believe rape requires penatration, and the evidence provided was not enough to prove penetration occurred. As it always is in court, there is what actually occurred and what can be proven. Based on how the jury ruled, I think they took their job serious and followed the law. They took under 3 hours to deliberate to come up with an unanimous decision, which was an extremely short period of time.

2023-05-17 15:16:19 +0000 UTCI wanted to let you all know that this episode reminded me of “The Serpent’s Pass” from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I’ve been so bogged down by everything from not being able to be as physically active as I once was because of my new job to the current state of politics from the perspective of a gay and seasonally brown Mexican. I spent so much time just staring at the worst parts of society and feeling so angry about everything. I was driving home from work listening to this. Hearing Jonathan say that through all the sleep deprivation and pain was “this love we never even knew existed” gave me so much hope. I’m reminded that there’s still love in this world. Thank you guys for taking the time to have that conversation. I wish all of you the best 🩷
