Punches, moves and playmaker crash

Something strange happen yesterday morning. Playmaker (my tool for visual programming) found some incorrect behavior in my scripts and "help me to fixed it". Obviously, after that help my project crashed and stop working at all! It was literally ripped to pieces, variables change their names, references gone and all this happen without any intention from my side. I just watched how everything fallen and tried to remember when the last time I got a backup copy...

Anyway, I spent two terrible days composing it back from ashes, piece to piece and now I'm proudly can inform you that crisis is gone. Nothing to worry about, everything is under control :)

Either way, we all appreciate you working diligently to fix the problem and I'm glad you were able to get everything under control. I'm soooo looking forward to your game and I think I probably speak for a lot of people when I say we've been waiting for a game like this for so long. Good luck and thank you!!

Looking forward to them~ btw, my problem is not so much with the color as with how it blocks half the screen from view. I think a smaller and semi-transparent vfx would be better

I'm thinking about color code the vfx. The red&bloody will be a power attack signature, green - for a speed attack, slashes for slaps&scratches and so on. I'm not a big fan of "asian style" of vfx, where all the screen burst from the rainbow colored stars and shines, but I also don't want to make it a "blood splasher" like in a shooter. Later I'll show some different & more detailed vfx and we can make a vote to check how it works

I'm thinking something a bit less ostentatious? Maybe a bit more transparent? I'm having trouble finding the right word but I think this one is too flashy and obstruct most of the view. Maybe make it look more like sweat splashing off the skin rather than little stars? Also, a touch of red might be good, to hint at possible blood.

I thought this one will actually be one of the many. What kind of vfx do you think would be more suitable?

good to know. Sorry about all the tragedy. It can be so annoying to lose days of works because the software decides to do something stupid. Also, I do hope the hit burst VFX will not look like this in the final version...
