2024-11-27 09:23:15 +0000 UTCI could be wrong, but my interpretation was that Ekko and Powder were already a couple in that timeline/universe before our main timeline Ekko entered in. Lines like "Trouble in paradise?" "Where would you be without her?" implied feelings at least. It was the line the episode was named after "Can we pretend like it's the first time?" that really solidified it for me though because it implies that they had kissed previously. Basically, I think that timeline's Ekko is probably fine because I think they had a relationship prior to our Ekko? That's the silver lining I'm going with anyway. Was definitely bittersweet that she put the trinket in the Vi box though; as if mourning our Ekko and recognizing that he was a different person. That's just how I saw it though; Arcane definitely makes you think!

2024-11-24 03:15:18 +0000 UTCThis all takes place between the trio vanishing at the hex core in episode 3 and before Jayce returns at the end of episode 5. You can tell because he's clean shaven at the start of this episode but has the beard etc by the end of it. Basically, this is explaining why Jayce did what he did in episode 5/6. He saw this bad future, and the robed mage sent him back in time to try and stop that outcome from happening.
