(Reminder if you didn't look at the Update Post on Patreon. Next week we will be watching 3 episodes of Fairy Tail to get through the goofy filler. Typically, I line up the double reactions so that both Youtube and Patreon stay in sync and get them the same day. BUT... due to the nature of the 2 episode arc AND then having 3 of the weirder filler episodes afterwards.... I decided it wasn't fair for Patreon people to suffer weeks of waiting to get through them. SO... Patreon will be a bit ahead of Youtube, but it will even out over the next few weeks! So enjoy the massive drop of goofy/filler episodes next week)

imo the time skip is partly for character building reasons but also to set up the next major arc. you'll learn as you go muehehe :)

I was confused too when I got to this part because I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention to the background characters. She DOES look different, not super different, but different enough to seem like a new character. So yes, she's been here lol.

2024-08-01 20:36:44 +0000 UTCman these episodes were brutal on first watch, seeing the consequences of their strongest fighters lost and slowly losing the power and will to keep up the conditions of the guild and falling into debt was so sad for the guild, knowing how they're like a family, having to grieve so many guild members at the same time, the constant fight to believe there was hope for years with no news. lucy's story in particular was so tragic, they were FINALLY repairing things, working through their family issues and like you said, she never really gets the chance for proper closure, she even missed his funeral and the mourning period afterwards. everybody who knew jude has already gone through the grief, come to terms with it and moved on and lucy is left alone in that regard as well. on the 'why did they do a time skip' front, i dont know how true this is because i didnt find a reliable interview source, but its apparently to help power scale the core members of fairy tail, the rest of the guild have time to sort of 'catch up' a little with the power, it also allows for new enemies and guilds to do the same and just 'be stronger' since fairy tail was essentially the strongest before everything went down
