Tokoyami was in no real danger, I had heard of fungal infections in lungs before, it can takes weeks for it to be fatal once they start growing, hers disappear after 2 hours or so. Though it is a viscous attack it makes your breathing more difficult, it's like attacking someone with temporary pneumonia or bronchitis.
