Where it loses me is when that turns into assuming anyone who finds him compelling is excusing what he did or hates Sasuke. Liking a tragic character isn’t the same as endorsing their actions, and the story itself invites conflicting interpretations. It starts to feel less like sharing your perspective and more like trying to prove a point because others feel differently.

2026-02-08 23:55:41 +0000 UTCThis is one of the moments that I completely disagree with the show about- turning Itachi into a good guy eventhough he tortured his brother by making him watch his entire clan get massacred 518400 times TWICE at the age of 8 and then again at 12. The problem with a lot of this show's fans are that they're little patsy boys who dislike Sasuke because he's more competent than they could be despite suffering more trauma than they could ever imagine so because of that they serve their jealousy over their empathy which motivates them to simp hard for Itachi to balance it out. (Not saying that you're a patsy boy but the people who choose jealousy over empathy are such people.) People say shit like "Sasuke was so hard-headed, Itachi needed to do that otherwise Sasuke's hard head wouldn't train"... I mean how narcissistic do you have to be to say some stupid shit like that? Sasuke was so hard-headed so Itachi needed to traumatise him in that way? Like, do you hear yourself? It was 8 year old Sasuke's fault because he wouldn't have trained and therefore Itachi was obligated to do that? Like what... it's unreal Also Raph, you immediately responded "how can you pretend to be that nice" without even though the entire time that you had known Itachi, it was because he had literally mindraped his kid brother for 72 hours continuously twice with the most brutal and fucked up genjutsu that you can imagine. "Man I guess 518399 times and he would've not went revenge-crazy and 518401 times would have been exactly 1 too many times mindraped to go after Itachi." It's not exactly like he had to do it that intensely to keep up appearances with others since they wouldn't be fully aware of what happened in his mind since it's with himself and himself only. So how about all that which completely outweighs the nice stuff. Also what do you mean "how can you pretend", bro you have literally seen shows where people pretend for extended periods of time, you KNOW people in real life who pretend to be nice and that most people have a social face, AND you know for sure that people like that exist. And then you YOURSELF said "yea but what you did to your brother was" (in regards to Madara) then stopped yourself because you knew you had an agenda to defend Itachi uncompromisingly and if you said that, you wouldn't be able to do it later. No wonder you got angry at my previous comment. Raph, I'm just disappointed that you chose to lie to yourself. Also to people who are mad that I posted my opinion, I have just one thing to say to you. Go. To. Hell.

Now when you look at it, when he was in Akatsuki, nothing bad ever happened to the village. Like when he first came and used Tsukuyomi on Kakashi...he could've used it against Asuma and the others who he met first, but he waited for Kakashi who had sharingan and strong mentality, knowing he would survive tsukuyomi. Or later when he went to 'kidnap' Naruto...he let Jiraiya find them and then he told Kisame "Jiraiya's too strong, we need to retreat". Yeah right, like Itachi was afraid to fight Jiraiya...so smooth in keeping Akatsuki away and still leaving everyone think he is a bad guy.

Just because you're impressed by Sasuke and the other Uchiha doesn't mean that they're impressive just because they're Uchiha. They're impressive because they're impressive people and people from other clans can be just as impressive.

Sasuke can be stronger "sometimes" but still can't defeat him😭. That's where he would part ways with plot armour. Since shippuden out of all the fights he had, in a fight to kill he never defeated anyone cleanly till this day.
