Absolutely awesome reaction. This is by far one of my favorite episodes out of both seasons. Being that it was the end of season one is probably why you guys forgot that the reason he doesn't believe he's the Sorcerer is when he fired that arrow. He instantly passed out and then they misgate opened and he teleported back to the demi plain, so he did not see what happened with the arrow and creating that lake.

As I have read the web novel of this and I did read past both seaons of anime. I really disliked in the text story the arc in the city with him making the shop and just visiting the academy it went on and on in the novel. When these last parts finally started to happen then the story became more interesting. Honestly anime did pretty good job of cutting all the slice of life and didn't drag that arc too long.

My take on the MC is that he is very much "It is better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war". Through S1 and S2 is obvious that he will try and avoid conflict as much as possible. What S2 has really shown us, is that he's him, and he's getting pushed to the edge by all these shitty people, demons, demi-humans. He severely underestimated his own strength up until this point and as of this episode has probably realized that he could squish any of his opposition like the bugs that they are.
For me, the most PEAK part of this season was Rona's realization that he's a truly terrifying being. I'm probably most excited to see how she will choose to interact with him from now on. She clearly had this impression that he was a naive boy but now has to consider that he could very easily be the cause of the demon race's extinction if she approaches him carelessly from now on.
One thing that just finally clicked for me, is that when the MC was saying he made a deal with the goddess everyone else seemed to brush it aside. What I mean by that, is they didnt argue with him but their chosen dialogue made it seem like they didnt exactly believe him. He must be a supporter of the goddess to some degree. This is likely because they cant imagine someone being powerful enough to actually be in a position to bargain with the goddess. She's supposed to be an all-powerful deity, why would she make a deal with a mortal? In fact, if it wasnt for Io confirming his strength I'm sure Rona would have tried to argue with the MC about it.

I do wish they kept the translation as Devil instead of sorcerer. I get both are technically correct but devil just makes more sense for someone that's feared by both sides of the war

Great reaction, loved the end discussion as well. Makoto really is just fed up with the other side constantly trying to interfere or ruin his goals/plans. Rona was literally one catalyst and the guild guy was the final nail for him to just conclude he is gonna do his own thing and do it his way.
