VaM2 Addon Kit Beta0.1.1 Has Been Released
Added 2025-08-01 21:42:47 +0000 UTCThis minor release fixes a number of issues with the Beta0.1 release of the VaM2 Addon Kit. This release is exclusive to our Patreon Creator tier backers. Please see our previous VaM2 Addon Kit Beta0.1 release post for more general info on the Addon Kit here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/vam2-addon-kit-1-134359550
Note: this version of the Addon Kit only works with VaM2 Beta1.1 or Beta1.1.1. Please make sure you install that first. See the other post for information on the VaM2 Beta1.1.1 release here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/vam2-beta1-1-1-135507415
Download
In the future we plan to create an updater for the Addon Kit, but for now it is a zip download. This zip contains a Unity project that you can open with Unity. Please unzip to a new folder, and then follow the information in the documentation link further down in this post which explains how to install Unity and open the project in Unity. If you previously downloaded Addon Kit Beta0.1, you can unzip this over the previous install (and replace all files if prompted) or you can install to a new folder. Please do not share this link. This is for Creator tier backers only!
Documentation
We have created some guides to help you through the install and the creation of addons here:
https://hub.virtamate.com/forums/vam2-public-addon-kit.71/
Unity can take some time to learn, so please be patient with yourself! Unity is fairly intuitive after you use it for a bit, and we have tried to make the Addon Kit as easy as possible to use.
Full Release Notes
FEATURE - (affects Environments) Unity's new Adaptive Probe Volumes enabled by default (note: this required disabling Enlighten realtime GI which Unity is phasing out and also disabling traditional Light Probe Groups. Existing Unity scenes will have to be adjusted to use APV going forward)
FEATURE - added additional overlay normal replace strength parameter to skin shaders so both regular normal and detail normal can be replaced independently
TWEAK - addon path in Daz Morph Import Tool and Combined Importer are now abstracted using <VaM2InstallPath> at the beginning if the addon came from the install area
BUG - Fixed issue with addon folder path containing spaces
BUG - Fixed regional issue when importing a compare-type morph
BUG - Fixed regional issue during dsf scan causing morphs to be marked Invalid
BUG - Fixed issues caused when scene is not saved before clicking Build Addon. Now force the save at beginning so scene copy is correct.
BUG - cornea, eye moisture, and eyelash reference materials fixed to work with fog and depth-of-field
BUG - Fixed UltimateMeshShell to have access to the GPU compute shader. This was causing errors when using FigureG8FemaleGPGens or FigureG8MaleDTGens as reference addon.
Enjoy!
