VaM 1.21.1.0 Released
Added 2023-01-20 22:34:36 +0000 UTCThis is a minor update to the last release (see https://www.patreon.com/posts/vam-1-21-77428912) to address bugs and make a few more tweaks.
Release Notes
Features:
- Added option to use default system microphone input for audio sources. Can be used to drive the LipSync plugin in a live manner.
- Added option to WindowCamera to activate it as the main camera when the camera is on. This allows some scripts and plugins like LipSync to use this camera as Camera.main.
Tweaks:
- Moved current key label next to the key button for better clarity.
- Now limit number of shortcuts that can be shown in file browsers and indicate when this happens to fix a performance issue when too many shortcuts were shown.
- The new lock clothing and hair items feature now also locks the parameters in those items preventing preset loading from changing the parameters.
- Added lock params checkbox to custom clothing and hair UI now that the new clothing and hair lock feature also locks parameters.
- Audio sources now clear the playing clip name in the UI when the clip has finished or is stopped.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed issue with other gender morphs not storing properly.
- Fixed issue with package cache files being in the release which could cause a false check integrity failure in updater.

2023-06-16 02:50:34 +0000 UTCI just applied this minor update and it seems to have broken Leap motion support? The previous 1.21 one worked great with the new Ultraleap tracking but now I can't get it to connect to VAM. I am using the Leap Motion dll to the Gemini compatible version. But this update seems to have broken it. No apps detected by Leap motion and the service status remains in idle. Any thoughts??

2023-02-21 10:33:10 +0000 UTCyes. cant say what you're issue is but everything looks great. Naturally bc 4K some menu elements are smaller/not scaled, but it's not game breaking.

2023-02-17 18:40:31 +0000 UTCIs it possible to include a video in a VAR package that a TV can be set to play? Im getting errors if i try to load a video that is within the VAM directory.

2023-02-13 01:00:25 +0000 UTCDear Meshed, many thanks for the updates of VAM1.xx. Is there a possibility to integrate something like a "master switch" for ALL "Store Preset Name In Scene" check boxes of the Preset tabs?

2023-02-11 09:35:55 +0000 UTCThe best way for me for such situations is Acid Bubble's "Collider Editor Plugin". There you can change the collision very finely and in detail for individual body parts.

2023-02-11 07:27:53 +0000 UTCis it possible to change the collosion? for example, if i have two people who want to shake hands or hold each other's wrists, i can't get them to actually touch. it's like if there was an invisible wall around the people's atoms.

2023-02-10 20:20:29 +0000 UTCI have added this scroll area in upcoming 1.21.2 release to shortcuts and directory scroll views. Thank you for your very long patronage! Great to see you here. :)

2023-02-07 18:25:00 +0000 UTCBepInEx means you installed something that is changing VaM's dll files. I can't support anything that does that as it could result in unexpected behavior. Use mods like that with caution. They could also inject malicious code and do things not allowed by VaM's security system.

2023-02-06 15:29:27 +0000 UTCthe problem is in the "BepInEx" directory

2023-02-05 17:44:20 +0000 UTChello, in VR mode there is a problem on the virtual keyboard, if I press "Enter" it displays an "E" and when I press erase it displays an "R"...why? And the other problem is when I select a node on the menu, I don't have the details of the node....why? thank you Image.

2023-02-05 16:52:44 +0000 UTCThanks for that information. I'm guessing since I have been using VaM for 4+ years that the new updates are causing it to not recognize it load things that are pathed. For instance, morphs or skin textures or other such files that were around before the VaR system was implemented. I could make a clean install of the new version in a separate folder but I'm not sure what that would accomplish. Once I copy everything over, it would simply be a replica of my install which did not work, unless I'm mistaken. I have years and years of looks and scenes that I have spent thousands of hours creating and I'm simply not willing to part with my creations. It would be nice if they were all compatible but it would seem not. Yes, the perspective is the important factor missing now that world size no longer affects FOV. Glad to hear you will be addressing that regression.

2023-02-01 02:51:27 +0000 UTCHi Meshed, thank you for putting some love into the 1.X version. I just see you are going to release another fix, may I suggest a small but very useful change for using the UI in VR: The shortcut list in the Select File box (showing the vars) has no empty area that can be grabbed for ballistic scrolling of the list. Scrolling via the scroll bar is very hard in VR with increasing amount of var files. Other lists than can grow large have this empty area, e.g. the clothing page number list, and it's extremely useful in VR. Anyway, many thanks for the recent updates to 1.x!

2023-02-01 00:08:08 +0000 UTCUpcoming 1.21.2 has an option to choose the previous world scale method. The current one does work in VR but it keeps your perspective the same. The old would move your perspective up and down depending on the scale you set. Note FOV does change in both. It is only your height that is affected. Also - if you have broken looks and scenes there is something wrong as that should not have happened. It could be a bug. If morphs are missing that means one of the var packages you were using did not load for some reason. There might be some error messages in the Error Log (find the icon on the toolbar). I suggest trying 1.21 using a new install just to see. 1.21 won't overwrite local VAR files and 1.21 saves should also be compatible with 1.20 except for the new preset overlay feature which won't work correctly in 1.20.

2023-01-31 13:53:42 +0000 UTCI was glad to learn I could roll back from reading this post. Unfortunately the new updates broke about 90% of my looks and scenes. Morphs are missing, characters are disfigured. The new change of world size not affecting FOV means I no longer have any way to adjust FOV in vr, which is something I use and do constantly. I did enjoy the improved loading times but ultimately I had to roll back to the previous version from almost 2 years ago to fix my issues. I am thankful at least that revert is something built into the launcher that I can actually do. Otherwise I would just have a ruined VAM folder about 2tb in size. I will be discontinuing my patronage.

2023-01-31 07:10:42 +0000 UTCThe new version requires a new key. If you have not entered it, you are running the free version which does not let you load custom scenes or content. But you say you have two versions of Vam. If you have vam in two diferent directories, you will need to copy the saves, custom, and all "addonpackages" directories from your original vam folder to the new one. And enter the new key in the new version.

2023-01-31 03:27:01 +0000 UTChello, after downloading and installing the .exe of version 1.21.1.0, I find myself with 2 iterations of vam. and the new version does not have all the saves and .var of the old one, it is surely a problem of chair/keyboard interface but there I am blocked. I'm sure it's a chair/keyboard interface problem, but I'm stuck here, so thanks for your help.

2023-01-30 19:29:17 +0000 UTCJust a follow-up, I found a way to use the Reverb G2 thumbsticks with the plugin called AcidBubbles.Keybindings, while at the same time using OpenComposite. It's important for anyone reading this that OpenXR via OpenComposite is not officially supported (as Meshed indicates in the prior reply). It does crash sometimes, but at least for me it is stable most of the time, and is worth it for the better framerate and also the use of the OpenXR Toolkit is icing on the cake.

2023-01-26 23:24:31 +0000 UTCYou have to enter the new key for 1.21 otherwise you will be using the Free version which can't display addon content. The keys are in other posts.

2023-01-26 15:28:49 +0000 UTCI have not seen or otherwise hear this reported. I'm not sure what would cause that. We have not changed anything with the loading process itself. If you are getting that consistently with a specific scene, you could send me that save file and I can try to replicate.

2023-01-26 09:02:13 +0000 UTCHey Meshed, thanks for pullng double duty updating this great workhorse while still moving on 2.x. Wondering if you've seen this issue I'm having: ever since updating, person atoms load often in extremely disfigured/chaotic poses or jittery (arms shaking, etc.) as if on the brink of their pose completely freaking out and pulling the alien blob teleport "morph." (Often they are and one moved arm makes them completely flip out. Thanks and keep up the good work!

2023-01-24 13:48:03 +0000 UTCThe built-in Chromium-based browser only supported limited video codecs. There was a community patch for the built in browser that enabled more codecs (although breaking the codec licenses by doing so). Perhaps you were using that? The new ImagePanel videos currently only work with http urls, but a fix is coming to address issue with local video files. 1.20.77.13 doesn't have video support on image panels at all, so the only thing you are reverting is the browser.

2023-01-23 23:36:43 +0000 UTCThe update is definitely a great thing, but since then videos won't play at all, no matter what format they are in. Only YouTube runs normally, but own videos are no longer played on any player, neither on the Image Player nor anywhere else, so I went back to version 1.20.77.13

2023-01-22 16:50:13 +0000 UTCNothing has changed in this aspect, but if you use mouse wheel while your mouse pointer is over a UI element (either in the scene or the built-in UI) it won't zoom in and out because the mouse wheel event is being sent to the UI instead.

2023-01-22 03:29:07 +0000 UTCHello, I wonder if anyone can help please? With the new update we can now use image panels and the like to play Videos but I wonder how you play local videos instead of from a URL? I have been messing about for awhile to try and sort out local playback using avi or H.264. TBH it has me a little stumped. I also don't seem to be able to get Video controller plugins to work anymore after the latest update. Thanks in advance .

2023-01-21 22:12:15 +0000 UTCl am noticing in desktop, mouse wheel zoom input delay of sorts, zoom via mouse wheel has become intermittent-not work, after say rotating the camera or other general movements or at random 🤷♂️, in menu's and on atom, using zoom in-out after is working randomly, only after update it started, it also happens in menu page scrolling's, it's frustrating, First thought my mouse wheel failing, nope, it was the update of vam and only occur in vam app

2023-01-21 17:56:16 +0000 UTCThere’s a new search filter added. It lets you see all the custom morphs you have added which is great. There was no way to do that before. All the ones I made show in blue and the filter shows only those. I think it’s called custom all, something like that?

2023-01-21 12:45:57 +0000 UTCPlease could you advise. After this update I am struggling to find certain morphs. I like to use my own custombody morph and apply the head morph from another look. This was never an issue before the update. For example at present I couldn't find Epi head morph even though the new update shows where the new morph is located when you hover over the icon. Before I used to be able to type Epi in search bar and morph would be located easily. Now this morph doesn't even show up in the search field. Not sure if I am searching incorrectly or what has happened.

2023-01-21 02:39:06 +0000 UTCThe application only officially supports OpenVR through SteamVR and Oculus runtimes. In OpenVR mode the application uses SteamVR controller binding system. I don't think there is anything I can do on my side to make it work with this version of Unity.

2023-01-21 00:09:47 +0000 UTCUsing SteamVR, it's easy to "fly" around the scene using Reverb G2 thumbsticks. Using OpenComposite I must press the thumbstick down to move. Could this somehow be fixed to behave like the thumbsticks in SteamVR? Thank you

2023-01-20 23:22:47 +0000 UTCFirst, I want to thank you for the hard work on this extraordinary project. I do have a tiny, nitpicky request to throw in a future update: I'd love to have the ability in "Package Manager" to search for or sort by permission status. It's way too easy to accidentally "Deny Always" in VR when the little orange permissions dialog comes up, and I really want to be able to just check out all the permanently-denied packages and easily rescind all my accidental bans.
