Obviously the context of Mun-yeongs situation is way more extreme but I think the point of the whole thing showcases how much toxic parents affect their children’s lives no matter what. Mun-yeong was just recently able to live her life more freely without thinking of the constant trauma her parents caused her and just like that in the most horrendous way, her mom ruined it.
