Sawyer Disposable Cam Zine and Why Patreon Is The Way 🫡

Pardon the rant but I love artists being transparent about their business and frustrations. Patreon is one of 3 ecommerce sites I use currently, Etsy and Ebay being the other 2. All three have their pros and cons but the one I traditionally made the focus was Etsy until they started changing their policies about art nudes, and one of my shops got hit with 500 violations in a day. That shop got nuked, luckily I had one in cryogenic suspension that survived- but even posting implied nudes or something with sheers like my recent Ana Corbi set, things I would never think would get dinged, gets flagged.

And sometimes the violations are because the bots think someone like Sylvie Mix is young (she is not).

Point is, they have weird rules enforced by bots and as was made clear recently in a customer service chat about an Etsy payment account, everything is automated and there isn’t anything can do about anything. Like all businesses they have cut everything to maximize everything. It’s funny to go to FD Studios around LA and there are no longer any employees, it’s all automated locks.

Hilariously Ebay has only dinged me for having my IG handle @primordialcreative in the description! “Offering to sell offsite” when I like just wanted people to know who I am 🤪

Which brings us to Patreon ✊✊✊ because this really is the place to be. I love the zines, viewmasters, instant film prints- affordable physical presentations that a person can have a personal relationship with. I want to make new ones and sell them to people who collect such things and I absolutely understand businesses having limitations on what’s on their sites still can fuck up your businesses and have no recourse even when you jump through all the hoops!

Long story short the Sawyer zine is gonna be a Patreon exclusive for the $40 level and likely all future zines will have some form of art nudes in them. I don’t sell those on Ebay (no print on demand or digital), and I’m not making it public to buy on Magcloud. I have tons of material for the next Maria and Cheyanne zines, the latter of whom I never put any of our nude work into zines at this point.

Also, just floating this, but Sawyer (basically my neighbor) and I already have a sponsored-shoot deal running w her, but Maria is local and said she’d be down, also Ana Corbi is local to me in LA even though we haven’t shot since 2020; if someone has interest in being part in supporting a shoot of either Maria/ Ana Corbi get in touch!
