The question occasionally comes up "why do you photograph only women?" Well, I have shot a ton of guys over the years- for example, when I had the studio in 2017, I did several freelance jobs involving men, bands + an author essentially. I've included images from 3 of those sets (including some band gear that was part of that particular musician's cover concept).
The honest answer I guess is A. I don't find many dudes I want to photograph B. there are a lot fewer subjects into this kind of creative portraiture, and C. the audience I have isn't interested in any guy photos. Lack of interest, lack of supply, lack of demand. Now, I would fucking love to photograph Bruce Springsteen, Willy Nelson, Trent Reznor, Bono... you could just imagine those guys showing up, standing there without posing, then leaving. Well, I'm sure I'd get some poses from Bono. Those dudes have character, and certainly a lot of actors do, but for whatever reason the paths of those guys and my paths never cross. Maybe it's a challenge I'll take up in the coming year.
