Flying Dragon Combat [47x35]

Welcome back Fellow Darkish!

The enormous red dragon, having grabbed one of you in its hind claws, takes to the sky with two powerful wingbeats to enjoy its well-deserved meal.

Without thinking, you rush to cling to the beast as well, but soon find yourselves high in the sky, with only a sea of clouds below.

From atop its scaly back, you can attack the creature and try to free your companion from its crushing grip, but can you stay mounted without falling or being burned alive by a breath of fire?

MAP DESCRIPTION:

Flying Dragon Combat: Fighting atop an arena that tries in every way to kill you.

The dragon’s massive back is covered in heavy plates and dotted with sharp spikes where you risk injury.

The beast tries to burn you with its fiery breath or bite you, while attempting to throw you off its back.

Surviving this battle, or even managing to bring down the creature, will be feats bards sing about in taverns!

NOTES

• Flying Dragon Combat is both an arena, where you fight the dragon’s minions or other opponents, and the monster itself to be defeated!

• The dragon won’t stand still to be killed. We recommend having the dragon perform a Dangerous Maneuver once per turn to try to throw the party off its back.

• The typical breath attack of any dragon can hit the party; the dragon just needs to use its attack and fly through them.

• Tying yourselves to the dragon, the Fly spell, and other means to avoid falling will be essential for this battle.

• The dragon’s membranous wings are its most delicate part. Severely injuring them can cause the creature to crash, bringing the fight back to solid ground.

• The Dragon’s Lair Dungeon and Dragon Peak maps are perfect for encountering the dragon and as a prelude to this battle.

Okay, we had a LOT of fun designing this map!

The dragon is one of the most iconic creatures in fantasy lore, and we thought fighting one right on its back would be an incredibly cool opportunity for those unforgettable sessions you’ll always talk about with friends.

It’s impossible not to create epic moments fighting atop a dragon arena xD

We’ve created a special dragon design, with a back and tail wide and stable enough to “realistically” host a battle, and we hope you find it as cool as we do!
